The Imperial Academy for Magic is founded by order of Tanyx.

Tanyx orders creation of the Imperial Academy, primarily to create more wizards for use in his engineering corps and armies. The Eye of Calthon, along with the loose organizations of village herbalists, the Druids, and the Kalyxian Order (an order of patriotic, combat focused wizards). The four primary philosophies of magic agree to elect from them a headmaster for each term, with the Druids being the primary compromise candidates.
