Sandro invades Erathia and is defeated.
The War of the Unholy Alliance was a conflict that took place on Antagarich After the Second War of Enrothian Succession, the undead Necromancer Sandro traveled around on the continent of Antagarich disguised as a Wizard's apprentice. He met with Gem in AvLee and Crag Hack in Avauntnell, convincing them both to gather dark artifacts that he told them he wanted to destroy - the Cloak of the Undead King and Armor of the Damned, respectively. However, when he had the artifacts in his possession, Sandro quickly disappeared without giving them the explanations and rewards they expected. Sandro traveled toward Deyja with the artifacts. He had told Gem that he was the apprentice of Ethric, so she contacted the Wizard in Bracada. Ethric gathered some allies (his apprentice Jeddite, the Ranger Ufretin, and Jabarkas) and attacked Sandro. Strengthened by his artifacts, and with the aid of the Alchemist Vidomina, Sandro managed to overcome them all. In Deyja, Sandro met Finneas Vilmar, an ambitious young Lich. Sandro decided that he wanted him as a puppet-king to reign in his place, so he started a conflict between Vilmar and Duke Alarice, taking the Duke's lands and putting Vilmar in a position to depose Deyja's current ruler. Sandro also poisoned Vayarad, a vampire posing as the AvLee border lord Falorel, since he had become too powerful and was therefore a threat. Gem and Crag Hack allied themselves with Gelu of the Erathian Forest Guard and Yog of Krewlod, and with King Nicolas Gryphonheart's backing, the four heroes went after Sandro, but the Necromancer managed to defeat them all. He returned triumphantly to King Vilmar's court in Deyja. The four heroes knew that they needed something to counter Sandro's artifacts, so they assembled he Angelic Alliance. With its power, they entered Deyja and defeated Sandro in battle. The Lich fled, but the heroes captured and destroyed his artifacts. Despite his losses, Sandro planned a grand invasion into Erathia with the aid of the double-agent Lord Haart. He told Lord Haart to poison King Gryphonheart, then forged alliances with the Overlords of Nighon and Lord Xenofex of Eofol. Sandro felt triumphant, but just before the invasion was set to begin, King Vilmar tricked and imprisoned Sandro for attacking an innocent Deyjan lord. With his advisor out of the way, King Vilmar could take full credit for the impending Restoration Wars.
