Personal history

Destined to inherit and manage the family's wealth, at 15 Byron was sent to get a private education. His father, fearful of Byron soiling his reputation decided boarding school in another city was the best choice. Unfortunately Byron has never been able to avoid trouble. At the first boarding school he was expelled for leading a cow up into the third story of the building, causing a lot of chaos. At the second boarding school Byron and his friends broke into the bell tower, and woke the neighborhood in the middle of the night. When attending his third boarding school, back home in Waterdeep, his father gave him an ultimatum that if he didn't graduate, he would be disinherited and forced to make a living by himself. At this school, Byron met a really cool girl by the name of Sylvi. They both got along well, and for her he really tried not to get in trouble. Unfortunately through lack of self control and circumstance, he was expelled after a year because of illegal pit fighting. Forced to make a living on his own becoming a professional boxer seemed like a pretty decent option. He is now pursuing a professional career but also has a side hustle in illegal pit fighting.

Father: Byron Astley II is a magister of the Castle Ward. He cares deeply about the reputation of him and his family.
Mother: Beatrice Astley is an accomplished harpist and the daughter of wealthy merchants in Waterdeep. In her youth she attended a private academy to work on her craft, where she eventually met Byron II. As a wife and mother, she continues to practice daily but rarely performs in public. In the higher circles of society it is considered a rare treat to hear her perform. Beatrice is driven and ambitious. When marrying Byron II, she moved up in social class, and she continues to promote her husband's career behind the scenes and in social circles. Byron III's lack of drive often frustrated her, but I think she would be the most supportive family member if she found out he was pursuing a professional career in boxing.
Younger Brother: Winston Astley IV is now expected to inherit the family estate and shoulders all of the expectations of his father. Although very different from Byron III, they are quite close.
Schoolmate: Sylvi Elden is the daughter of succesful winemakers. She’s grounded and works hard but unlike many others she didn’t have any expectations of Byron, neither as nobility nor as a trouble maker. They would usually spend their time together alone, surfing early in the morning or staying up late chatting. She was definitely aware of all of his hijinks but didn’t partake. Byron definitely thinks she’s cute but wasn’t interested in changing the nature of their relationship since he liked their friendship so much (although I ship them). When Byron was expelled and had to make his own way as a fighter they fell out of touch. He assumes she went back home after graduation (but maybe she didn’t...)
