Issechar Von Dauland

Issechar Von Dauland

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Quite lean while previously slightly muscular, lost some while isolating. Has broad shoulders, longer feet, and sharp jaw.

Body Features

Blue-green hair (often worn down with braids) that always seems like it moves through water, blue-black eyes like the void of ocean trenches, sharper teeth. He has a fin down his back, on the backs of his forearms, and on the backs of his calves. Teeth are slightly sharper than an average human's.

Facial Features

Strong cheekbones with strong jaw. Has scaling underneath his eyes. Flat nose and thin lips, and fins on either side of his face

Special abilities

Gifted singer who can use his voice as a spellcasting focus for his bard spells. He must be able to speak, even if the spell doesn’t have a verbal component.

Apparel & Accessories

Typically sticks to unrestrictive, loose clothing for all casual wear. Silk robes and high pants with books, but uses his leather captain's coat when in battle. Wears long gold pendants, containing a kiss from a siren, imprinted on a piece of linen (his token from home and homage to his roots), a pendant of Orin, his wedding ring with Byron, the Pearl of power, and other important items.

Raised on the outskirts of the fabled Atallaria and raised by sirens, Issechar is a headstrong, overly-confident water genasi charming his way to the top of the performance world as a bard, striving to be remembered in a world that normally would not.

Session 7/20

  • We think that the Brandath tomb is where the stone of Galor needs to be activated
  • Ren and Balgriff are our new employees as night guards
  • Byron does spice in the grave yard, rolling safely in the city of the dead
  • Issechar transformed into Renair to get passed the tree that controls around the tomb. This was successful and party was let in after bullying the tree
  • We realize that we do not know Lady Neverember's name
  • Upon finding a specific grave portraying a woman, the grave is defaced. There is a stone missing from the center of her chest and the background paintings look falling apart. On the top is a painting of Anri that looks hundreds of years old. The tomb of Lady Brandath is very old, but notably, it looks like the sarcophagus was placed there recently and old one removed. Amon finds that a stone archway rings hollow on the other side. Red starts to attack the wall.
  • Upon finding a secret tunnel through there, Paal detects abjuration magic at the bottom of the stairs. The gang swings across on a rope (except Paal who flies and Byron who jumps)
  • Top of the tomb on the bottom says "Analock" (wilds, nature, beasts), who is an old god of Enshara. It is written in olde Elvish.
  • Inside, there are giant, well crafted statues of stone beasts, along the tops of the room are various elementals in their ways wit triangles and lines underneath.
  • A puzzle appears in more olde Elvish, for which we add the correct patterns symbols in. Red steals multiple gem stones. However, upon taking them out, an earth elemental sprouts up.
  • -

    Session 6/30

  • Wedding on the beach (doot doot doot doot)
  • - Legal wedding, but ceremony will come later (most likely very last session where vows will be made)
  • Immediately followed up with going to the towers, disguised self as Agorn (-1 lev 1 slot). Upon entering force feild with amulet, meets with three people in table room playing cards.
  • Upon meeting one of them, who approached him and questioned him, confirmed that he got shot and killed in the street (woman asked for Xanithar details? Coup?). Passerby had healing potion and healled me, thus bringing witnesses to meet Manshoon. Woman gave me ring.
  • AGORN
  • Statue of Dalark Colarck greets us negatively, explaining that we should go away or else face the consequences. We carry on. Dalark and his brother were two major historical figures whp went mad in their towers and died there. Towers assumed haunted.
  • Upon going up to tower throught teleprt ring, we were ambushed by several mages, which we were able to be killed. Left room has dead mage in it, upstairs has an empty table with beakers, and right down has reading room
  • enters in room of runes, books, and oddities. On one wall, there is a large stone/obsidion ruin that moves when
  • Red is carrying the eye
  • Session 19

  • Began the session visiting Mert, who serves them port and discusses Dalakhar, Renaer, and Zentrium from the explosion. Dalakhar is apparently an ex agent of the deceased's father. Mert discusses how he was believed to have fled weeks ago following his father's banishment. He didn't expect Dalakhar to be into this fiasco.
  • Mert furthermore discusses the history of the Zentrium, including their origin and current factions.
  • Daegon (Nenaer's father) is estimated to have embezzled 500,000 gold (potentially offers us 8-10%)
  • The group decides to go to the Temple of Evor
  • Session 18

    TashLyn Yifyra
  • Davil arrested because the city guard caught wind of operations, found a charge on Davil. Possible prison break???
  • Session 15

  • Performs the night before in a rich part of town and performs very well, getting 7 gold in base pay and 2 gold, 5 silver in tips
  • Next quest for Mert is happening tomorrow, so we have some time today to do something else. Paal recommends that we go after the drow that night, which Issechar is willing to do but let him die. However, he isn't willing to put himself too far into harm's way. We should be better now that we will have Byron and Paal.
  • Performs day of as well for another 8 gold and 2 silver in tips. Just goes to a nearby inn to perform
  • Session 13/14

  • Goes to the Ecliptic Abbey with Paal to take a long rest with Brother Zed (who actually kicks him out and Issechar is actually kinda offended. May not ever go out with him again).
  • Arrives at Troll Skull manor and discusses nightly plan and we head to the docks. Issechar dives underneath and sees a submarine attached to the bottom of it. Additionally waited around for the drone to no avail, but assumes that the drone was discovered since the amount of sailors increased on the docks.
  • Goes back for the night after they all fail to come to a conclusion, but Issechar is against storming as a group.
  • After some tedious discussion, group decides to split and find more information. Issechar is commissioned to diver and find Zelafarn to ask a few questions and get some answers:
  • - What is his mother's name? Asphosis - How did they kill her? He was not there. Just saw the ships parked outside. There were some holes in the body, scorch marks. - Description of the orb that we are looking for? Larger than the average crystal ball and a bit foggy and with a pink and purple hue
  • Zelafarn stresses that it is okay if they take awhile.
  • Session 12

  • Gave Byron the 48" owlbear plush. He loves it.
  • Collects 10 g from Paal from Blackstaff
  • While originally did not bear armor in the common area, grabbed armor from his room as protection. He feels noticeably uneasy in the same way from the moon, but he feels oddly more impulsive. Now that he has brushed hands with death, he is more willing to put his life on the line.
  • Follows Byron downstairs and helps tether him to a post so that he can explore the void. Unfortunately, Byron sees nothing.
  • Upon seeing the spectres, becomes injured. Attempts to speak with them to no avail.
  • Continues to work to keep them at bay with various spells, but they prove to be less effective with time.
  • Session 10

  • Goes to the Dragon Quest mostly because he wanted to go in the water. Amon pressures him to do most of the dirty work, which he resists. He'll help but this is not his quest to complete. Ultimately, decides to go along with it for a higher cut of the pay.
  • He is the one who dives and anchors the actual rowboat before permitting his peers to go down. He doesn't see why it has to be him when others have actual potions that can help them with this, but he supposes that he is the strongest swimmer by far. Maybe second to Byron, but Byron is currently hungover.
  • Speaks with the dragon in primordial, which he can speak, but helps get him to the sphere Paal made so that the others can converse with him in common. He explains how he has been following these sailors for a long time, as they raided his home and killed his mother. He is bothering them to get his family heirloom of a magic crystal ball back. He invites us to keep whatever else we find on board. Issechar agrees to take vengeance. A life for a life.
  • They explore one of the sunken ships that is broken in half. Byron and Issechar explore one end and Issechar gets a fancy coat. They ask The dragon to bring some of the barrels up to the surface to potentially sell in the tavern as a mystery alcohol since he got Byron tipsy.
  • Back at the tavern, gets the pearl and coat appraised at the Magi, and learned of their magical properties. He wanted to kill the woman who talked down to him.
  • Session 9

    • Issechar is pretty uninterested in Volo's pitch for ghosts, typically wanting to leave the dead to their doing, but tags along since everyone else wants to go. Plus, Byron pitched a Spice Night so who was he to say no.
  • Between being at the manor and going to the crypts, he invites Amon and Byron to the carnival as promised by Paal and Red. He tries to play a trick on the poor renovators joking that he does not know the owl that comes, but quickly finds his joke not landing and taking the letter. He is disappointed and bored when he arrives to the Faire and it is only being set up, but being with the gang beats nothing at all.
  • • While on spice, Issechar feels his senses highten, and his movements faster. He feels like he is actually having fun instead of being bored out of his mind. He willingly leads the group down with Byron despite earlier disinterest.
  • Upon waking up the spectre, he basically parks himself near the entrance, casting spells from afar, and he does some decent damage, too (albeit, his first strikes were stronger).
  • After stabilizing Red with one of his spell slots, he goes and raids some of the nearby coffins, plucking a pearl from the throat of one of the skeletons and stealing a pair of boots off another (for Byron). He strings the pearl to a necklace and keeps it for himself, knowing it is magical, but not even caring if it is cursed.
  • Session 8

  • 12 gold each from Blackstaff
  • Manor currently under renovation, so Issechar fucks off to the ocean to sleep
  • Tried to convince the group to fire Gringle, but Byron refuses
  • Paid 20 gp to renovate basement/cellar
  • Upon the group mentioning the ghost, they think it is AP. Issechar tells them what Vincent said about AP and that it is not her, as AP is still alive.
  • With the rest of the group, visits the Blackstaff again to learn more about AP and the end of the world. Issechar does say that if he gets bored, he is leaving.
  • Issechar pulls Amon aside to ask about armor that would work well against bullets. He says "magic", and Issechar tells him to go fuck himself.
  • Paal explains the end of the world situation. Vadja inf that that is "oddly coincidental". Does not wish to discuss this with non-followers, there, so Issechar leaves with Byron to go to the Yawning Portal.
  • At the Yawing Portal, Issechar consults Davil and explains what happened. Visibly upset that he was attacked and demands that they provide him armor, but they refuse, informing him that danger was part of the deal. He refutes. They hired him to find out who did it, not to put his life on the line. However, after they challenge him as not being up to the task, he angrily ensures that he can handle it, but later regrets not pushing them more. He accepts 20 gp as payment and buys his own studded armor (sold his old set for 5 gp). He is able to go in and out without Three-Strings noticing
  • On their way back, Byron wants to stop by the Spice Den, but Issechar passes after learning that it has a Xanitar affliction, but offers to pay for half of the spice if Byron purchases some (ends up spending 2 gp)
  • Vincent Trench and A.P.

Vincent Trench calls upon you at Trollskull Manor during your downtime and explains what he has found about the owner of the object you gave him: a pewter ring engraved with the initials A.P. Based on the fact that you discovered the ring in Trollskull Manor, Trench believes this to be the ring of Alloria Palemarrow, a former owner of the inn.   Alloria is an extremely powerful dwarven mage who remains in the city to this day. She was once a member of the Magi of Karabor, but eventually retired and purchased Trollskull Manor from its previous owners. During a great attack on the city, however, she once again took up arms and was instrumental in pushing back the forces assailing Waterdeep. Following that incident, she sold the tavern to a group of shield dwarves and entered the employ of the Blackstaff, intent on continuing to protect the city in whatever way she could.   Alloria Palemarrow is also nicknamed "the Gargoyle," partially because of her stony nature, but also because some magical encounter long ago locked her face in a constant scowl.   This is more or less all of what Trench has been able to uncover, and he believes his job to be done, as discovering the owner of the ring was what you had tasked him with. He returns the ring to Issechar and returns to his apartment.

    Session 7

    • Three-day weekend! During the days, sings gigs at nearby taverns, earning 7 gold a day, totalling 21 g. • At nights, he did the spy work for the Zhentrium/Doomraiders. First and second nights were busts, but the third night, he catches a half-elf sailor wander away piss-drunk. When Issechar notices him, he casts Disguise Self to make himself like Three-Strings in sailor get up to follow in the shadows. When the sailor relieves himself in the alley, he catches a whip of a tail and shine of a blade from a dark figure on the roof above them. • Issechar casts Dissonant Whispers to affect him on a phychic level. He hits and the figure groans in pain. The figure jumps down and lunges at him. Issechar, not wanting to fight, attempts to charm person, but fails. Taking a good look at the figure, finds out that it is a drow, noting his features. He curses and speaks in undercommon, and draws a pistol at Issechar, missing by a hair. Issechar quickly escapes, turning the corner and using Disguise Self again to take the form of a Dwarf he saw earlier. He escapes to the water and goes home.   • At purple night, he mostly remains bored, but does make amends to Paal, showing him his Small Orin pendant that his mothers gave him. They aren't too different, and Paal forgives • Making amends, he tries to find someone to sleep with. Paal recommends Brother Z, who is just pure Himbo. Issechar approaches him to talk about "Lunamorian philosophy" and how it relates to Orin. After a (botched) attempt to smoothly seduce, he is grateful that Z still invites him to a back room and they get it on before the service.   • When transported to the moon, Issechar doesn't show it, but he is hyper uncomfortable, much preferring the sea than the sky. He feels extremely foreign here and mostly stays back, never once touching the rock. However, with the encouragement from Byron, does go into one of the towers and adjusts the mirrors (and admires himself in them). • Upon seeing the end of the world... He is extremely shocked. He was always taught that the end of the world would come not with fire, but with the seas surging. He feels scared and aimless, hopeless. How can he stop THIS?

    Session 6

  • Starts off getting paid for Mirt's quest. 10 gold a piece.
  • Goes with Byron to the butcher to get meat for the Cockatrices. While at the butcher, lets slip that he has killed and eaten people before to Byron's surprise.
  • Confided in Davil's offer to Byron, expressing that he wants to do it but does not want to cause discord within the group. Byron encourages him to do it but know that if he gets caught he could die. Quote "hey, just like with anything." He thanks Byron and tells him that he has never had a close relationship with a guy, so thanks him.
  • In turn, Byron asks if Issechar has a family to which he responds "eh?". At this point he realizes that him and Byron have opposite upbringings.
  • At the house, paid Paal 1 G to feed the cockatrices.
  • Attends selling session but does not contribute much, instead thinking about the offer still.
  • Goes with Redd to Yawning Portal to accept Davil's offer. Gets first assignment in that to investigate and gather information by the docks. A creature has lured sailors (humans and half-elves) to their deaths. Three people have died the past few days.
  • Joins Red at the bar, and Redd gives him some insight. Informed that in his experiences at the docks, he never saw too many teiflings, but that is all he knew.
  • Suddenly confronted by Three-Strings for what happened yesterday. Pretended to not even know him, but quickly, Redd steps up and starts yelling at him. Owner of the bar comes over and kicks them out, but Redd takes Three-Strings out and knocks him out. They run home.
  • Next session: Vincent visit, Midnight patrol of the docks, and Swordsmanship honing.
  • Session 5

  • Receive note in the middle of the night, quote "Want to be a part of something big? Speak to Davil Starsong at the Yawning Portal. Come alone."
  • One mission from witch is to find Halam in Waterdeep mountain. However, Amon would rather find the horse first. Issechar wants to do the latter due to being near the Yawning Portal.
  • Found talking mare by sending out crane to then followed by Paal's owl. We find them and to get them alone, Issechar casts Disguise Self as Captain of the Guard to get cart driver away from cart.
  • Goes to the Yawning Portal alone about Davil Starsong. Learns about this opportunity, working with this faction as a spy with the two of them. It is an enticing offer and Issechar is hungry for larger opportunities, and truthfully doesn't know group too well to dedicate himself to them. Seriously considers this and stays noticeably quiet the rest of the adventure. Thinking. He will be back at Yawning Portal within the next 5 days to give an answer.
  • On his way out of the Yawning Portal, he sees 3-strings take the stage. He casts Vicious Mockery as a joke but causes actual psychic damage. 3-Strings passes out and Issechar tries to get out stealthily, but he is stopped by the bar owner. Issechar talks his way out of hit by insisting that the item that he created via prestidigitation in his hand was not stollen from three strings as it has his name on it. (He made this object to keep up the rouse to his team that he needed something from Three-Strings) and that Three-Strings passed out via dehydration from drinking. Is able to convince him but told to keep his personal conflicts out of the bar. Issechar understands.
  • Goes to the mountain to find Halam. Runs into two cockatrices, both of which you damage and one kill. This is notably, the first time Issechar has ever taken the life of someone with a weapon. Issechar considers this further, feeling a thrill in this, like the sword is an extension of him, but thinks of his goals and what what they would yield to, and still finds himself thinking about Davil's offer.
  • When they find Halam, he says: "Evil's twin hides its face. Expect a change by winter's end. It is looking to be a gray year." through wind reading.
  • On way out, joins Byron and Paal in trying to take the three cockatrice chicks. Attempt to calm with a song/lullaby, and while it starts off strong, it quickly cracks out of guilt of brutally killing their mother. Eventually takes the sleeping one
  • Session 4

  • Starting by doing library research on AP
  • Sold paintings with Paal for 400 gp
  • - Spent 300 gp on renovations, 100 split evenly (20 each)
  • Looking through records and found the Noble House of Phyland, noble house with several members with A names
  • Invited to an opera by Renair, seems suspicious
  • - Never passing up an opportunity to show off and look good. Spends 10 gp on new blouse, with fantastical sleeves and low cat to show off my token - Gives Red 1 gp to buy a dress to look good
  • Amon gets request to bring friends to Blagstaff center, where offered job that is basically Gestapo stuff. Secret police. I don't quite trust them, and agree with Amon to wait until after the opera
  • - Stress that we are only bound by word and not legally. Can leave whenever.
