The Mark of the Fallen

Once you have passed the Ebony well after entering the cemetery in the valley of the two hills there is a large stone monument. This monument has many metal plates upon its sides. These plates hold the names of all the fallen soldiers that died in these fields, both those who bodies were recovered -some of whom were buried there in our cemetery or taken home to bury.- and those who were never found.   All are honored here as a way for family to see the utter destruction that the war caused. The Total loss of life is shown there as thousands of names were recorded. Since that time many have been added to our cemetery with their own tomb stones. Those that fought in that war have a special crystal embedded in their tomb stone to tell them apart from the rest. Our cemetery is honestly a sobering reminder of our mortality with The Mark of the Fallen being the largest reminder of such.
