Hataxe Order

The War Hippo lumbered down the street. Its heavy gait slowed only slightly by the ivory clad man riding atop it. At the gates of the estate the Hataxe effortlessly dismounted and strode forward his armor gleaming in the hot desert sun. This was not what he had trained all his life for but it would do for now. He dreamed of the days he and his brothers and sisters had rode into battle together though that had been years ago. Now he had been relegated to keeping uppity priests in line. Tonight at least would be slightly entertaining. A group of men had been stationed at the gate, elite warriors and veterans from many campaigns. Two of them rose to greet him at the gate but before they could speak the Hataxe's twin talon like kopeshes flew from their sheathes. The guards dropped to the ground with out a sound. The rest drew their weapons and raised the alarm. "Let them come," the Hataxe thought as a large group of men came filing out of the estate. "It will be more interesting this way. And a better message to the others". Then he began his work.

History

The Hataxe Order has been around nearly as long as the God King himself.  It is said that in the first of this order were made up of the military men who helped Iraj conquer the continent.  Over time the order has separated itself from the regular military and has become the elite military and religious force within the country.  While they are a branch of the church they do not report to the priests but directly to the God King.
