The Keepers

Structure

The keepers are organized in a very loose hierarchy. they don't care much for power but rather the preservation of knowledge. The most common titles given are Keepers, Chroniclers, and Librarians.

Keepers

The Keepers job is to preserve the knowledge that has already been found. They live in the temples and spend their days recording, copying, and cataloging manuscripts.

Chroniclers

Chroniclers devote their time to traveling across the land gathering information. This takes the form of going from village to village and recording the local events or happenings.

Seekers

Seekers are sent out into the world to find hidden and forgotten tomes. Their goal is to bring back knowledge that was lost to time.

Librarians

Librarians live in the temples alongside the Keepers. However, they are responsible for interacting with the public and act as the main priests. They help guide those to knowledge and if it is available grant the public access to copies made of manuscripts.

Public Agenda

The Keeper's main goal is the preservation of knowledge. While many of it's workers also help guide others to attaining knowledge the majority of the Keeper's life purpose is finding and cataloging forgotten lore.

Assets

The temples of Eotrix do not have much in the way of monetary treasures or wealth. They do however hold much of the ancient tomes or lore of the ancient world. Their assets lie in the collected knowledge of their temples.

History

The keepers began as an organized religion shortly after Candarion's Fall . There had been worshipers of Eotrix during the Age of Heroes of course but with Candarion's Fall much of the old knowledge was lost. Thus Eotrix's worshipers organized so that such a loss of knowledge would not happen again. They codified a few list of basic tenets and set out in search of books and tomes to begin building their libraries.

Tenets of Faith

Record knowledge and guide those who seek knowledge.

Worship

Eotrix does not care for worship. Anyone who seeks and gains knowledge is inadvertently worshiping him.

Priesthood

The priests of Eotrix that interact with the common layperson are the Chroniclers and the Librarians. One is responsible for cataloging the events of the world and the other for guiding the people to knowledge.
