The Vestonian Star is made up of magically imbued shards of molded earth. These shards are called Rays and when a command word is spoken they join together. The same command word can be spoken again to separate the pieces. When 10 Rays are combined together in this way they form a circle that gives off a feint white glow. Another command world can combine 10 Stars into Sun and the magic within the pieces forms them into a spherical ball that gives of faint golden light. These command words can be spoken by anyone regardless of their magical talent and the energy needed for the transformation lies within the coin itself. The secret of the process is hidden by the mages guild and prevents others from counterfeiting the currency.
