The Small History of a Very Large world Vol 1&2

Hello dear readers. Today we try to condense the small yet tumultuous timeline of our current world known as Eotis into a small condensed format. We will go through the Beginning of Time, to The Endless Gates, The Blood War, the Corrupted Lands, the Seven Seals, the Holy Wars, and then our current time. Our volume will cover the first 4 of these topics and the second volume will cover the last 2.   Chapter 1: The Beginning of Times. 10,000-500 BEG   In the beginning of time it was said that chaos reigned supreme. There was darkness, silence, and very few beings that we would ever come to know of. From religious texts or from the insane ramblings of zealots, it was said that several gods were born of powerful Primordials. These Primordials gave their power to create and destroy to those below them, passed it on. The gods being made in their image supposedly resembles a pillar or teaching or simple power of these Primordials. So far only two are known, Tharizdun the seeping darkness, and Kore the Queen of the Gates. Both had been hidden until as of nearly 70 years ago, but Kore is credited with creating the feywild from her blood against a battle of several gods, their bodies becoming several of the large trees that inhabit the feywild such as Yggdrasil. Tharizdun was sealed long ago by the Seven gods but his anger was so great and his vileness so corrupting it was said he made the abyss. Once the Primordials were sealed away though the gods began to form the very backbones of their societies, creating followers and creatures that would inhabit the world they made. Moradin was said to make the mountains with each strike of his hammer, Bahamut was said to create the very elements from his draconic breath, Mystra made the web that tied all life together which brought about magic, Jergal and Kelemvor made the the endless graves that would hold the dead that came to them, Istus started the sands of time and wove the weaves of fate, and finally Lathander started that calendar year. The first dawn had finally started. The many gods that worked tirelessly worked together to maintain and create balance, there were rogue ones though that used their powers for evil...for corruption, though this would not be felt yet. The many demon and devil lords that would come to be made were mere small blemishes on the start of this history.   Chapter 2: The Endless Gates 500 BEG -500 AEG   The world had experienced a small blip of peace that had lasted almost 1000 years. Gods had slowly carved out their place in the world, and were close to the people, they had no experience with what was soon to come. Soon though they would know, at the time it was hidden from history but as we have learned history is eventually revealed or written by those who win...no matter when they win. Supposedly Kore had left the world unconnected to the other planes of the universe, to keep them safe from the ever encroaching mortals and the power hungry gods, or perhaps her chaotic nature had gotten the best of her.... Eventually though, her gates opened, aberrations, beasts, elementals, the dead were sent back into the world of the living, and the mortals and gods were sent their first test. War had started now, and the gods gathered their mortals to war, to battle, carving out different areas for themselves, and when one plane was not enough for the gods that entered, they waged war upon each other. Several gods fought amongst themselves for the lands they call Mt. Celestia and several were killed. Gruumsh and Larethian fought for the very fabric of the fey wild, and Jergal and Kelemvor fought against the mass of undead to create the ethereal plane for those that were lost. The evils that people saw corrupted them, turned them into vile animals, or made them better, this was where the first angels and devils were formed, where Orcus would soon become a house hold name for evil, and where Asmodeus would soon make his home.   Chapter 3: The Blood War - 500-530 AEG   The Blood War, the second test for the gods, the gods who had left the mortals to their own devices, to the nations they built, and the wars they fought. There were many, and they were fragmented, but not for much longer. It was here the gods first met their mortal enemies and understood the war that had been brewing beneath their world all along. Demons and devils, the hate in mortals hearts depending on how vile turned them into creatures of other worlds under different banners and they fought over the River Styx, the very right to control access to the planes. Eventually their world spilled over into the mortals, the material plane as you will and war had broken out, Orcus raised mountains of undead, Asmodeus leading his horde of generals, Demogorgon laying destruction, and Baalzebul one of the most powerful devil commanders out there. It mattered not what races were on the material plane, what mattered in their existence, whose god they pledged to, there were only two sides at the time, death or survival, and as such many races had come together to fight side by side, many who had been at odds for centuries to fight back the fiendish incursion. Angels died by the hundred, so did devils, their magics carving deep scars into the land, leaving unstable plots of magic or rips in the weave, humans fought as best as they could against the never-ending hordes of the devils and demons as their leaders came up with a plan. Unfortunately there was only one that they had come to. Thanks to the one ancestor Trivon Tariel leader of the time to the great wood elves in Athel Loren, he came up with a scheme to stop the fiends. At the time Orcus had made 4 terrible creatures and unleashed 3 others, of his creations were The Devourer, Elvarg the Great Corruption, The Nightwalker, and finally his disciple Kyruss. The other three, creations of the Primordials were The Tempest, The Terrasque, and finally the Kraken. With the sealing of these creatures for his great ritual, the weave of magic was tightened, and the first set of magic limitations were set, but you see at the time Mystra's weave had never faced such stress, nothing had tested it like this, like a net being burdened by thousands of fish, the weave would soon snap.   Chapter 4: The Corrupted lands - 530-890 AEG   In this time period many things occurred, though not many over on the material plane. Simply many nations had slowly made their claim, the kingdoms of the Vusan empire, the slow corruption and creation of the vampire lands of The Von Carstein Empire, the Kingdom of Tisia, and many many others. To first tackle the current problems of this chapter one must understand the full ramifications of the previous 30 years. Over the course of these 30 years angels had fallen, and become devil lords, and a great lie had been uncovered but only to a known few. You see for the first time ever it was known that a god could be torn in half. You see readers, until now I had lied to you, like many of the gods had. Bahamut had never existed back in the beginning, he was one god, Ioh, who was split in half though by who no one knows. From this he was split into both Bahamut the virtues of Ioh and Tiamat, all their vices. Over the course of these coming years, the god Primus, the god of law would be created by Bahamut as an impartial judge upon all laws of the universe and the very first hearings of Asmodeus would be heard and his great war. I do not intend to bore you with details, but the outcome was the covenant. The Covenant was a promise that forced any dealings between celestials, demons, and devils to be made into contracts which both parties must understand how it affects them and what they stand to gain. Each party could lie, or muddy whatever information was on there to make it seem more grandeur but two rules could never be broken. No celestial, no fiend, no god, no lord, could control the free will of the people, they may corrupt them, they may push them, but they may not force a mortal into a deal and no otherworldly being could be brought to the world without first being invited by a ritual. Though the war had ended, many of its effects would be felt forever, gnolls had made their way onto the material plane, Lich's were slowly learning the magic to turn them into gods, and the underdark would slowly never be safe again for the dwarves.   I thank you my dear readers for at least reaching this point, and whilst I wish my book could fit more it would be too daunting a task for the less...invested in such topics. From your dear writer and author Rina Kirastv.   Chapter 5: The Seven Seals 890-920 AED   Ahh the Seven seals that the great Tariel had set would soon become the main point of conflict for a group of adventurers, several governments and leaders, as well as the insidious Court of the Crimson King. You see unbeknownst to but a few, the seals he had created had doomed the very world he tried to protect. Mystra's weave was torn asunder in the conflict that warped the world, its webs tangled and ripped, and the seals themselves rolled up this tangled mess and spun them upon themselves slowly but surely over the past 400 years. Mystra could not repair what was tangled unless it was released, and if all of the weave was tangled into the seals, magic would disappear from the planes. At least that is what was theorized by his great grandson Paven Tariel. Over the course of nearly two years a group of 6 adventures detailed as Varen the Half Elf, Moira The dwarf, Orpheus the undead Elf, Natalia a Lone Human, Ieados the Tiefling, Sev The hobgoblin, fought against a group naming themselves the Court of The Crimson King which was comprised of Analeise the Human, Sven Lastur the Human, an unnamed tiefling man, a woman who was formerly known as Alice Castile and finally the ring leader, and upstart archdevil named Kamos Brova. From several interviews with those of the group who still live several have believed that he must have been a fallen angel, like Zariel who had fallen upon fighting in the great war nearly 400 years ago. Whatever the case these being sought to destroy the seals, their supposed goal to let loose Orcus from the abyss though dear readers that is not my theory. My theory is that something had lied to Kamos, or perhaps he sought something else....what would he gain, a demon from releasing Orcus from the abyss. Either case the battle had begun against the clock Kamos had set, he would break seven seals across the world, each one set in a different kingdom to make it more difficult in terms of breaking them but his group was set on unsealing them. With each one broken a new terror was unleashed. As far as we know he successfully broke 5 of which the last two which were opened by Paven Tariel and several other magicians were The Devourer set in an undisclosed location in the Himiko Province or rather what we now know as the Principality of Hinoda as well as Elvarg the great corruption. Eventually the adventuring party had engaged in conflict with Kamos Brova and are confident in their slaying of him to this day. We owe a great deal to these adventurer's and the many lives that were lost in such a brutal conflict.   Addendum: It appears that whilst writing the last chapter of Vol 2 it appears as though new information has come to light thanks to a whistleblower of a long lost organization. I thank the person that has come forward with this information and fear no backlash from an organization that no longer exists.   Chapter 5.5: The Caged Mind 890-950 AEG   The Caged Mind was a secret organization that seemed to have been founded by the long great Trivon Tariel, hidden beneath much paper and behind many mouths was an organization made acquire and sequester dangerous magic items. These magic items which were supposedly held are as follows: The Horn of Orcus, The Tooth of Ioh, The Deck of Many Things, The Staff of Orcus, The Demogorgon's Maw (Whip), The Brain of Kyruss and many others. This organization had such control that many of these magical artifacts are still lost to this day though...that is not the organizations fault at the moment. With such magical artifacts would that not corrupt for as my readers have heard, absolute power corrupts absolutely. These leaders fought over what to do with these magical artifacts and soon the organization could not handle the strain, several of these lost artifacts are presumed to have been torn to different factions and eventually had caused the end of the organization. Where they are now...gods only know but such power can only stay in the shadows so long before it comes back to bite us...   Chapter 6: The Holy Wars - 920-925 AEG   Currently much of the Holy Wars is still debated. What atrocities were committed by the Seven Deadly Sins, or perhaps the Four Horseman or perhaps even worse...the three Archangels to further their conflict against them. What we do know is this, the Seven Deadly Sins to the best of their abilities fought against a great evil and corruption that seemed to have taken hold of not only the Three Archangels but also perhaps even those in power and in that conflict many people across the continent of Lustria and the continent of Rilla suffered great losses. While not every atrocity can be linked to only the Seven Deadly Sins, it may be more fair to say that every atrocity has had their hand in it in one way or another, whether they be the cause, the effect, or its resolution. If more information gets released on the subject I will be sure to release the information for free to previous readers, and add an addendum to copies made of the book if they sell well in the coming years.   Chapter 7: Current times 925-1000 AEG   After the Holy Wars and the great loses that followed many of the countries that were known both on Rilla and the City states of Lustria would create their own borders. The Principality of Hinoda had eventually lost its great leader Himiko, a now known ancient gold dragon that had ruled the country since its inception and constantly switching appearances by becoming a new heir as her time waned. Bloody civil wars had taken place in the country and eventually a king named Pluma Hinoda a tiefling man has come to power. He created a court of people who would advise him and tried to bring back peace to the now civil war stricken nation. Though it was difficult eventually he brought the country back but unfortunately only 12 years into his rule, he was assassinated but again no one knows which group might have had a hand in it. Rose Hinoda a young girl, bright I might add, rules the country from atop a throne of people who see her as nothing but a stepping stone to power. Whether this country will be pulled by the Hinoda line much longer will soon be seen I believe.   Derkonia ah such a disgusting country within its black walls there was once a beautiful nation of people that worked for every bit they got. Now only an empire exists, one made to use and abuse its people and one made to turn its people into a spear for the upper echelon of such a society to enjoy prosperity. There is little information of The Chord and what might have made them up but what is known is that 12 families currently hold seats in a small tight knit group that seems to have each others back for the most part. Each one contributes in some way to advancing the nation and each one possibly had a hand in the destruction of a once beautiful nation. Now as Derkonia was my homeland I must say, I hold only contempt for such people who wish to impoverish their people through the use of a system which ultimately makes the common man suffer, but I am a traitor to such a nation, so who am I to speak. Derkonia in terms of geography is one of the lands scarred from the war that was conducted so long ago across the plane and as such holds much magic within its land, unstable or otherwise.   The Brusa Empire, once known as the Border Princes, a nation of dwarves and men held together to fight back the greenskin hordes that rushed from the south. Unfortunately this is not a conflict many people were well informed of, you see these *greenskins* were people like you and me, people whose culture could not mesh well with the people who sought to live in its land. This nation was built on a false war used to crush other cultures to further the great human and dwarven races that lived south of the border of the worlds edge mountains that now reside as natural borders to it. Now run by the great grand child of Sven Lastur an Emperor who acts as the shield to Hinoda takes on the war that Derkonia has supposedly placed him in. The people of such a nation supposedly enjoy more freedom but if forced enlistment is your form of freedom than may I offer a better solution? Get out while you still can. If you want my opinion I believe that both nations are at fault for this war, and neither is a victor, both of its people suffer but obviously the Brusa Empire is the lesser of two evils. Either way, whichever nation comes from the smoke of this grand war....is a nation worth fearing...and soon what will become of the great continent of Rilla after such conflict..   The Herana Collective is a fantastical nation for those born of a monstrous race. You see previously this nation was run by very corrupt humans, elves, and dwarves or in some way these people were under the boot of such people in their previous country and wished to inflict that same pain on those that came to them. Welcome Mr. Stonebeard I hope you enjoy a lifetime of being a 2nd class citizen under the laws of the Herana Collective and the now wonderful dictator Dacs Turoth. I have very little to say besides its beautiful country side and while much of the land is unexplored how the country will deal with the lizardman population that also lives on such a continent is yet to be seen. Though comparatively to recent years I doubt it can get much worse.   You see in the transition of powers after the Great Holy Wars few nations were lost. The once Vusan Empire no longer exists after the great vanishing of Shaemor and instead the great tree of Yggdrasil stands in its place. There is no answer to this great vanishing but more than 200,000 lives disappeared off the face of the world that day and while that is an unsatisfying answer allow me to perhaps stroke theories at the end of this book. The Von Carstein Empire, an empire that existed as a safe haven for both undead and vampires alike had caused great suffering for nations next to it especially with the act of several families who took it upon themselves to become liches. With this it was only a matter of time before someone took matters into their own hands, and with that comes Solaris. A group of monster hunters, undead hunters to be exact, zealots in their own right but who am I to judge, great evils need either greater evils or unfaltering light, and we got the latter. Solaris had taken it upon themselves to destroy the nation and had done something that no one had done before them, they had destroyed supposedly every lich, vampire, and undead that had roamed that land.   Now dear readers here is a theory, a theory of something far darker than anyone would like to admit. A source that will remain anonymous told me that not even 50 years ago several dozens of Solaris soldiers had found something deep within the depths of the Von Carstein Empire. Those soldiers never returned, and whatever that great evil might have been was never publicized like their other ones. Though that is all I have to write my dear readers, thank you for paying attention thus far, and for your continued support.
