Character Creation
Point Buy or Standard Array, no rolling for stats. This campaign setting (Theros and Mythic Destiny) has ways to increase stat attributes, to keep all players equal and make those increases matter, it’s better to take rolling for stats out of the equation for balance.
I would prefer you to use average HP rolls as well for the same reason. There are going to be chances to gain boosts and such throughout the setting.
Heroic Drive, Legendary Bond and Tragic flaw need to be clearly defined. This is something that the gods can use against the PC to either hinder or help them.
- Heroic Drive: The defining characteristic of a hero in Theros is their heroic drive – the force that impels them to live a life worthy of great epics.
- Legendary Bond: The connections and goals that serve as a character’ bonds are powerful motivators, all the more so when they have supernatural origin or possess mythological weight. Example: “I owe my survival to Phenax, god of thieves, who taught me to live on the streets while disguised as another mortal urchin.”
- Tragic Flaw: The heroes of Theros don’t often conform to tidy definitions of heroic morality and virtue, and they are often laid low by their own flows. The gods aren’t concerned with “ordinary” flaws such as addiction or laziness, but rather something you don’t want the gods to learn or it is certain to provoke a god’s anger. Example 1: “I remember every insult I’ve received and nurse a silent resentment towards anyone who’s ever wronged me, including gods I perceive to be the cause the of the insult.” Example 2: “I harbor dark, bloodthirsty thoughts that I struggle in my meditation to quell. I hear the whispers of Mogis and resist his call daily.”

There are said to be no more than 20 dragons in the realm of Theros and are believed to be as ancient as the land itself. Meletians believe in them, they have no reason not to, but it has been generations since someone has seen a dragon. No 1 level dip of Hexblade Warlock. As a substitute, Pact of the Blade will grant charisma to attack and damage bonus like what Hexblade grants for multiclass needs. To understand the language of the gods, you must be blessed with the supernatural gift of the oracle. Not even the most powerful of clerics or wizards can understand or read celestial. If you have more languages than options allowed, you can substitute a language for a single weapon or tool proficiency.
