Balvath (/bɑːlvæθ/)

"The soldiers quiver amidst the corpses of their fallen comrades, holding their halberd's firm they turn to the flame engulfed battlefield. To their fear, a red figure approaches, with horns as thick as stone fences, and a muscular visage to rival even the strongest of men."
Bred and trained for war and combat, the Balvath Demon is a feared opponent on the battlefield, seeming almost invicible to the observer. While most stick to their lords and commanders and don't think much besides, a rare few have places outside of that in demon society.   While a Balvath Demon could live up to a century in age, very few make it to that age in life due to their position in society. Most die in the ages of 30, if not earlier due to many reasons, be it foolhardiness or something outside their control. Balvath Demons die on mass, despite their formidable strength their population is low, never going past the thousands, yet more are constantly born so that soldiers may never be lacking.   Many Balvath Demons do not care for themselves, accepting their place in society as a warrior class. A burning rage within them must be satisfied, and the only way is through combat.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Large and muscular, Balvath Demons are feared by humans and demons alike. Trained for war since their very childhood, there are very few who could beat these beasts through sheer strength alone. They tower over most, the shortest of them standing 7ft into the skies, yet the highest of them can grow up to 10ft in length.   Balvath Demons are covered in scales, usually tinged in ranges from the lightest of reds, to the deepest of greys and blacks. Turfs of hair adorn their sides and crown, standing like flames upon their heads.

Biological Traits

Maturing quickly, reaching adulthood at the age of 14. Balvath's technically have a slightly longer lifespan than humans, yet scant few make it that far, most dying in combat.
