Eaglecrest Meadows

Geography

Steep cliffs and drop-offs of grey stone cover the meadows of yellow-green grass. Rivers are plentiful and so too are ponds. The lands are rich with ancient ruins overgrown by nature and caverns unexplored for many moons.   Within these meadows there lies a small mass of land in the middle of two streams, forming an island of sorts. From the Silver Age, the island is home to the Eaglecrest Golem, a gift sent by Gathuram to Ithon. On all corners, statues of angelic beings were constructed to suppress the entity that resides inside the golem.

Fauna & Flora

The meadows are home to many beetles - large and brown Eaglecrest Beetles with red markings on their shells; smaller Bluecrest Beetles with two curved horns forming a crescent-moon shape above their heads; and Purplespike Beetles that can be seen rolling dirt.   Horned Behemoths live under rocky outcrops. The behemoths are large quadrupedal creatures and have pale brown-grey skin with yellow fur, covering only the neck, lower legs, and the base and tip of the tail. Their chest has the appearance of being malnourished yet they are usually quite muscular. Two horns protrude from their head, and can sometimes grow in areas of their body.   Yln Gnolls make this place their home, and don't venture far from it. They are humanoid covered in thin fur and have the head of a canine. They are not as intelligent as humans, and appear tribalistic; usually fighting with spears and whips, and wearing basic fabrics and leather.

History

In 121 Silver Age, 15th of Werch, Gathuram sent a statue to Ithon as a sign of peace. The statue being dubbed "Eaglecrest Golem" and placed in Eaglecrest Meadows. The carvers were unaware of Ukko's soul residing in the rock, however Yln's ruler sensed a presence within the statue. He ordered four statues of angels to be constructed and placed on all corners of the tiny island to inhabit it. The statues were imbued with hexing magic as a safety precaution in case whatever resided in the statue desired leave.   It would rest undisturbed for a century and a half, until on 1528 Platinum Age, 2nd of Terebery, Nondor - Leader of the Grey Bear Tribe - accidentally awakens it and flees. Eaglecrest Golem runs to Yln Forest, slicing anything in it's path.
