Civilization and Culture
History
Sometime in the Origin Age, a portal to the 5th Chaos Plane was opened in Ravencrag Mountains - unbeknownst to anyone at the time. What emerged from the portal was the Raven Giants, coming from a land of colossal size. They made the mountains their home as they were one of the more weaker species in their original lands.
In the Silver Age, humans uncovered their land via a mountain pass, and were fearful and in awe by their appearance. One day, Oliver, King of Ricusa, ordered the capturing of one of the Raven Giants in the hopes of finding out more about them. The one captured had ventured from her land and was the daughter of a Shaman. She was brought to a small town that would eventually become the new capital. They couldn't understand their language, and locked her up below the town in a stone chamber. She became hungry and the king had the idea of sending the worst of the prisoners to be sacrificed to the Giant, as they believed at the time that they liked to eat human flesh - which was a false assumption.
The Raven Giants noticed the absence of the Shaman's daughter and began searching, not yet knowing it was humans who took her. They encountered a group of humans again who were on an expedition through the mountains and, seeing them as harmless, allowed them into their territory. The humans studied their day-to-day life and reported back to King Oliver I. He would come to learn that the Giants were omnivores and didn't eat humans, but by this point the captured Giant had grown accustomed to her conditions and grew too big to easily get out of the stone chamber, therefore Oliver decided to keep her a secret to the rest of the world; lest the Giants find out.
In 1520 of the Platinum Age, Octenvil 19th, Reyner Coldtrap would be imprisoned and sent to the captured Raven Giant, and killed her. He gouged out one of her eyes and teleported away carrying it. He travelled to the Raven Giant's territory a few months later and showed them the eye, saying one of the few words he knew in Ravenspeak: "Human".
The Raven Giants stormed through Ricusa in a great rage between Frethune 13th to Pathix 2nd. In 1521 PA, Ricusa was claimed by the Giants who make it their own land.
