Midnight Worm

Midnight Worms reside all across the whole Miniverse. They usually reside in the dark cracks in reality which are unseen by common folk. They feed on Unmatter, the material which results when something decays, whether it is a being, an object, or reality itself. Everything in the Miniverse must be monitored closely. If not, the forgotten things with begin to decay and go away. Once something begins decaying, it is only a matter of time before the damage becomes irreversable. Midnight Worms are made up of segments and can grow to be fifty feet long. Their mouths contain rows of crooked black teeth and they crawl on hundreds of little legs. They are made up of the sourest of thoughts and bitterest of grudges. They are low in intellect and so they will mindlessly devour any decay in sight.

The decay is getting worse. The lower layers of Rainbow Pillars are a testament to this. I can see from the window of my office, innocent Gumballians being decayed and left to be eaten by the Midnight Worms, come the night. I can feel the time is running out. The balance is failing...

Midnight Worms serve a place in the Miniverse as all beings do. They live as disposers of waste and were born from Epilith's negative emotions. One day, they will fully eat away at the Miniverse and it will be no more. That day will not be for a long time, however. Their eating and the decay is slow but wherever there is decay, they are sure to be near.

Genetics and Reproduction

They reproduce asexually. When they grow long enough, they split into multiple parts, each seperate beings. They then grow mouths over the next few days. Because of this, there is a huge amount of them. They are everywhere, just beneath the surface of reality.
