Epimethia: A world torn between civilization and nature. The wild and the political. Between chaos and law. These two forces are constantly pushing against the other in an eternal struggle. This struggle is reflected in the two main continents themselves: the "civilized" world: Polis and the wild land: Araxis. The two opposing wills have always stood against each other as equals, until in recent years that is.
This recent imbalance of power can be mostly attributed to the rising of an adventurer's academy in the east of the wild lands, causing a shift towards societal life. This new academy, run by the archmage Melrose, stands as a front against the cruel nature of the wild lands. The elves as well as other nature oriented races call this continent home, preferring however that nature be left to take its course rather than tampering with the cycle for their own gain.
The civilized continent is not without its own internal struggles, however. The political enivironment is plagued by corruption and underhanded dealings, most notably run by the house Dordecio. A vast array of peoples make their homes on this continent, trying to make a living in their own way with a higher standard of living.
As the focal point of the eternal struggle shifts, so too do other supernatural forces seek to tip scales in their favor...
