Erythnul
Erythnul is the God of Envy and Slaughter. He was once an Elder Spawn Erythnul who was envious of Aureon, God of Law. He slaughtered Aureon's followers and used their souls to accend to godhood.
Erythnul manifests as a towering figure cloaked in shadow, his eyes glowing like molten gold. His skin appears almost translucent, revealing dark veins pulsing with a deep crimson hue. He wields a massive, serrated blade that seems to drink in light, and his presence often induces a sense of dread and unease.
Erythnul embodies a cold, calculating malice. He delights in sowing discord and revels in the misfortunes of the fortunate. His laughter echoes like a chilling wind, and he is relentless in his pursuit of chaos. While he is malevolent, he is also cunning and strategic, preferring to manipulate others into doing his bidding rather than acting outright.
Once a great king of the elder spawn overshadowed by powerful gods, Erythnul grew resentful of their favor and adoration. Through dark rituals and the sacrifice of his own followers, he ascended to a greater power, embracing envy as his core essence. He now seeks to spread his influence, using his divine might to exact revenge on those who thrive without merit.
Many of Erythnul's worshippers believe that blood spilled in battle feeds their god, increasing his bloodlust. Some worshippers believe that non-combatants and weak opponents are meaningless, and that killing them does nothing to satiate their god or prove their ability; killing those unworthy of a warrior's death even angers Erythnul, they believe. Other worshippers, who are far more common, disagree, believing that all slaughter is a sacrament, and that the dying screams of innocents are music to Erythnul's ears, hymns in the church of the battlefield.
Erythnul's Tenets
Erythnul urges his followers to bring down those who succeed through luck or privilege, believing that true strength lies in seizing what is undeserved. In battle, mercy is a sign of weakness. Erythnul demands total annihilation of adversaries to instill fear and despair. The act of consuming a fallen enemy’s blood is a sacred rite, granting his followers strength and fortifying their bond with him.
