  • Found diary of head servant:
During the young years of the Burach Empire, not long after the Klosterban family had settled there were some incidents with a local tribe of forest dwellers (Wilde), humanoids but with bright red eyes and the gift to talk to the creatures of the forest. This tribe had lived in the Unternacht forest for generations and were intrigued/frightened by these strange settlers. They also did not take kindly to the deforestation and strange religion of the new settlers. So it did not take long for tensions to rise. As the Klosterban family did not like these strange “pagans” and their rituals, protest against changes to the environment and the fact that they openly did not want to join the Burach Empire. They were also standing in the way of their growing business. They decided to placate the tribe by distributing some of their wine and offering it as a peace offering. The head of the family, Karl Klosterban and his brother Jakob came together with a small delegation of guards and their personal pastor father Alden. The wine barrels were broken open and everyone partook in it freely, bonding over it. The wine was however poisoned and soon most adult members of the tribe found themselves gagging and vomiting, writhing in pain; at which point the delegation quickly and efficiently killed almost all of the tribe, burned down their camp and dug a mass grave where they dumped all the bodies. Before dying and whilst being buried, the tribe leader uttered a final curse:     “Bathe in blood and dirt you have us  Took our future  When your empire crumbles   And your gods forsake you  A trueblood shall call us  And we will cleanse these lands like you once did”    Unbeknownst to many, before the slaughter of the Wilde tribe, the youngest daughter Irene (18) had given birth to a bastard, worse even the father was a wilde tribal. Shortly after the birth, she died of blood loss and the child was considered a stain of pagan origin. The child was to be left abandoned in the woods, in the hope that the problem would take care of itself. The head servant in question could however not partake in such a cruel act and left him at a friend’s house in the then growing work camp, a childless couple that owned the local drink/eat tent. The couple received some money and were warned to never reveal the truth, lest the child be persecuted or hunted.    It is now around noon.
