Valkyrie
Valkyrie
Group of maidens who served the god Freya and were sent by him to the battlefields to choose the slain who were worthy of a place in Valhalla. These foreboders of war rode to the battlefield on horses, wearing helmets and shields; in some accounts, they flew through the air and sea.
Legend tells of these fierce female warriors visiting Erde to assist the mortal warriors in times of great need.
Valkyrie are often worshiped highly among the sailors of Erde as they are believed to protect ships or sailors for whom a Valkyrie has taken a liking to.
Valkyrie are also used by Freya and other Aesir gods to deliver messages to the mortal world.
