Market Village
Demographics
Around 95% percent of the population is made of zivar people. The rest is divided into several other ethnicities, such as tibenes and hadakin.
Defences
The Zivar Market is one of the few zivar villages defended by a strong wall. Some gasami benti live around the village, what gives to it some protection against natural predators like the boratsi and enemy benti such as the sawari.
Some watch towers stand near the village, close enough to send a signal if needed.
Merchants many times have their own guards, but the zivar tend to be good with spears and bows, specially men.
Infrastructure
The market village is very similar to other zivar villages in many aspects: mud houses, a well to get water and some bigger buildings. However, the market village has many more storage areas, for living and non-living products, more stables and a wall of wood around the village.
Assets
The Market Village, although relatively small, hosts a large variety of goods. That includes:
*zoku, the grain cultivated by the zivar;
*honey from the southerners;
*cattle (zandai) and milk, brought specially by the tibenes;
*native species of Engoru Savanna, such as birds, lizards, fish, fruits and plants;
*skins, hides and bones of many kinds;
*exotic species, brought by foreigners;
*savanna wood, very resistant to heat;
*dyes of many colors.
Architecture
The buildings in the market village tend to follow the Zivar pattern: a square-ish structure of wood covered by mud. It is easy to make and relatively comfortable.
Foreigners may build houses of wood, although it may cost much more.
The richer people paint their houses in many diferent colora, sometimes imitating the traditional zivar patterns.
Geography
The market is located in the eatern border of the zivar territory. That means it stands in Engoru Savanna, a place where the rain comes only during one quarter of the year.
It is located near a river, which level lowers in the drier season.
