Seasonal rains of Engoru

How the seasons affect life in the savanna

The rainy season had started, and for the next three moons, it would rain a lot. The level of the Mit'Wazi waters would raise, many places would be flooded, uncommon animals would appear and the plains would be covered with tall and green grass. It was the time to plant zoku, the grain that would sustain the village for one more year.

Manifestation

The rain effects in Engoru Savanna are well visible just after some weeks from the start of the wet season.   The grass, that is eaten almost to depletion by cattle with the passing of the year, begins to grow again, drastically changing the landscape.   The level of the rivers, many of them intermittent, starts to raise, what floods some areas of the savanna.   These two factors combined — renovation of vegetation and water abundance — create favorable conditions in many aspects: regarding wildlife, it stimulates migration of some species, for both reproduction and feeding; for human cultures, it favors the cultivation of zoku and other crops (zivar people) and seasonal migration (tibene people).

Localization

Engoru Savanna, located roughly between 10° and 13° South latitudes in Melung continent.   The location favors the existence of two well-defined seasons: winter, long and dry; and summer, short and humid.

I like how the rains rejuvenate the land, bringing it back from the brink of collapse. It's like a superhero coming in at the last second for a heroic safe. The only thing I wish there is, is more. More info, more descriptions, more aspects of the rains, just more. What's the history of the rain (has there ever been a notable event with it like a lack of rain or too much rain), how do the different people regard it (does one culture worship it while the others only witness), or what are the rare creatures that come out in the rain?

That would surely be interesting! Right now, i'm not in ideal conditions to make long articles because I lack my computer. But I'll surely add more things later!   Thanks for the comment <3

Solid article covering something familar to a large part of our world, and makes the setting feel more believable.
Technique | 2
Good use of the quote box, though the lack of technical information in the sidebar or using Key Value Pairs makes the overall writing suffer. It would be nice to see the article have more information, or strike more to either side of teaching or invoking this weather.
Style | 3
Each paragraph is only a sentance long, or paragraph long sentances, not sure which. A lot of my issues with this article stem from the fact that it is more of just an info dump of ideas. Not bad, just very rough.

A decent start that just needs some go throughs for grammar and structure to start to make it shine!

Thanks, PB! Yeah, I have much to increase to this entry, but it's a very relevant theme and important to understand this region of my world. Thanks for the opportunity!
