True Vaskidir
Kalian took a deep breath and concentrated. She started to feel the metal object with her mind, roaming through its curves, lines and edges. There was also a trick: a cube-shaped void inside it, that wouldn't be noticed with just the eyes. And so, not so fast and not so slowly, she began to shape the raw metal into an identical object.— Chronicles of the Vaskidir: Kalian
History
The passage test of the Vaskidir exist since the Vaskidir clan was officially reunited. They are a prominent clan in New Kas Tradil, and have the innate affinity to Galbet, being considered metal mages.
The test was improved with time, since magic started to decay and is became harder to be detected in a child.
Execution
In short, the True Vaskidir intention is to detect the potential of younger clan members, their weaknesses and their strengths. This will make easier to assign a role to the person, being them in the family or in the society as a whole.
The test needs at least to older clan mages observing the tested, in order to judge their work. The tests have to main categories,
copying and creating. When copying, the objective is to shape metal in order to make a copy of another object. When creating, the tested needs to shape metal objects from their own mind, being them strictly or just vaguely specified. It is also considered the time taken to shape the object, as that also indicates the affinity to the metal.
The shaped items are then tested: shape, density, resistance and other parameters are measured. With this information, the training of the young Vaskidir can start and they are considered as adults, at least in matters of skill.
Rarely a member fails the test. When that happens, they are put into a special training routine, or, in extreme cases, they leave the clan.
