The Grave Jackal

The deity appears as a black anthropomorphic jackal with a golden staff, cloaked in black, torn clothing. He is one of the 3 death gods that stand atop of the Hollows' Judgment.   He is a deity that believes that death is natural and a person's time will come once death has come for them. Disobeying this law is disobeying the natural order of the universe and should be dealt with as a threat. However, if it means hurting others to fix this unnatural change, then that is worse than the threat at hand. Death is supposed to happen naturally, not by sacrifice. Especially not by sacrificing others. The threat must be dealt with, but life still comes first. Otherwise, that death would be unnatural as well.   His followers think that death is sacred and when someone dies it must be respected. Funerals are well made and articulated for corpses and the body is dealt with in the utmost care. They are also protectors of both life and death. When a creature curses the natural order of death, they will be dealt with by the order of the grave jackal as if as a threat to the world (liches, undead, etc...). However, they will not sacrifice others or cause damage to other ways of life to achieve their goal. For in the gaze of the Grave Jackal, the death of the innocent is worth more than the birth of an undead.   Edicts maintain the order of the Hollows’ Judgment, lay bodies to rest, respect places of the dead   Anathema bring people back from the dead, create undead, rob or desecrate a tomb   Follower Alignments LG, NG, LN, N
