Dwarves

According to Dwarven heritage legends, the Dwarves came to Erdon when a meteor, engulfed in flames, struck a volcano like a hammer striking hot iron on an anvil. From the explosion of sparks birthed the Dwarves. They were once the world-renowned miners, smelters, and smithies of the Korum Empire, but nearly 200 years ago saw an attempted revolution and riot by many Dwarves banned together. After their defeat, fewer Dwarves sought the mines or smithies, instead leaning towards engineering and economic studies in larger populated areas. Gone too are many of the old traditions, as Dwarves will regularly keep their fast-growing facial hair short. Dwarves have been known to live for over a century, but typical lifestyles of elder Dwarves, namely a sedimentary life, often contribute to failing health and an ‘early’ death.

Adults are small to medium size. They have a +2 Con because of their stout bodies, advantage on Constitution checks and saves, and a natural resistance to fire and heat damage. Dwarves can also heal faster, equal to twice their Constitution modifier over a long rest.
