The Aqueth people are a race of aquatic humanoid fishmen. They live mainly in Aqueth.
Basic Information
Anatomy
The Aqueth vary in their appearances, from anglerfish to parrotfish to clownfish, they all share certain characteristics.
They have the ability to breathe underwater, and can swim faster than they can run on land.
Genetics and Reproduction
The birthing process in Aqueth is highly regulated. All babies of poor citizens must be born in the hatchery, where the parents will pay to bring their child home. After the payment, the child is branded with a magic seal that dampens magic abilities, and attracts sea monsters if and when someone attempts an escape by sea. This seal is removed if one wins in the coliseum.
Ecology and Habitats
The optimal environment for the species is underwater, however there is a class divide enforced by the wealthy. This divide keeps the poor in the shallows, where the only way to go up in the world is through gladiator combat.
