Goa
Goa is a country consisting of small villages/towns that are spread apart. Travel between these villages is near impossible without a vehicle, as the sand heats up to an outrageous degree due to the high iron content and smaller sand particles. Able to melt the skin of most creatures through prolonged contact.
Most towns/villages are located in places near the water or in the shade of large structures.
When Goa was founded, it consisted of many towns built around oases, where freshwater and plants were aplenty. The people of Goa and La Vutan had friendly relations, trading technology and culture with each other. After the arrival of a realm renowned inventor called Sabaru Aizawa in the year 1132, everything went downhill.
Sabaru introduced the Goans to automobiles. These were a relatively new invention of his, having only officially entered widespread production about 7 years earlier. After introducing these machines to the natives, a group of them were unhappy with this addition, believing it was ruining their way of life. They split off from the Goans, forming their own nation called La Vutan. Eventually a factory was built to produce more cars. This factor poisoned the water, ruining the oases they had lived in for ages. In retaliation, the Vutanians blew up the factory, which ended up raining iron upon the sands of Goa, officially creating a strong hateful divide between the two peoples.
The Goans, now rageful warriors with a culture centered around automotive travel, are called the Sandstriders. Their leader, the Lord of Iron, is appointed through ritualistic combat.
