Jaren Hawk

Jaren's life had been nothing but disaster since the day he was born. His mother died giving birth to him, his father beat him, trying to cut off his elven ears. His entire family believed that he was a bad omen, and refused to even acknowledge his relation. He was alone for many years, forgotten by the world. Then, at his lowest point, beaten and bloodied, laying in a puddle in a dark alleyway, Jaren recieved a visit from a disembodied voice. This voice offered him power, the power to take the world and all the things he had been denied. Jaren's latent ability to pause the flow of time was unlocked. 
The voice, telling him to live the life he wishes, helped him to survive. Jaren used this ability to protect those who could not protect themselves.
One day, he was passing through a town when he heard someone being attacked behind a tavern. He immediately ran behind it and quickly defeated the attackers. The victim was a woman by the name of Maria, who told him that he was her hero. He had never once heard anyone call him anything other than a menace or a curse.
Eventually, he fell in love with Maria, and she fell in love with him. The two of them moved to Hefnan, a village in The Great Forest and started a clinic. They helped anyone regardless of if they were criminals or not. The voice in his head supporting him through this. They eventually got married, and were expecting a child when disaster struck.
One night, while they were working late they got jumped by a group of people. Jaren tried to defuse the situation calmly, but the people didn't listen. He heard a gasp from behind him, and saw a sword sticking through his wife's stomach. In that moment, the voice in his head became the loudest it ever was. Jaren stopped time and brutally murdered each of the people. He recognized some of them from earlier that day, when he had helped save their lives. He then turned to his wife, still in slow motion. He held her in his arms, stretching out that last moment of life into a million.
After this, Jaren killed his family, kidnapped Jethro, forcing him to research a way to bring his wife back to life. He started the Crimson Dawn, alongside Sister Magdalene, with the intent of ushering in a new day through any means necessary.
