The Frontier

The Lands Beyond, now known as The Frontier, was the name that the denizens of the realm gave to the part of the world that was covered in a dense astral fog. This fog would manifest people's (usually frightening) thoughts, which would create terrible monsters that would kill them, or recreate traumatic events that would cause them to go mad. After the defeat of the Crimson Dawn and the formation of the United Ereanor Council, a push was made to further scientific and geographic advancements. This resulted in the exploration of The Lands Beyond, by a group of monks called the Order of Serene Souls. Through their years of meditation and mental training, they were able to travel through the fog, blocking out the astral plane. They traveled for years, until they found a city in the fog. Starbound Obscura, home to the Starbound (Aasimar). The Starbound shared their knowledge and tech with the Monks, who brought these things back to the Known Lands. Among these was a new energy source, Astra, which removed the need for any other type of power.
