The Sluagh of the Ceilic Region

You would think the Ceilic Region is dangerous enough with the wild animals and dragons roaming around, the ongoing war and the bandit gangs, but apparently not, seeing as it holds a massive amount of supernatural entities. Such as the topic of this record, the Sluagh.   The Sluagh are the wandering souls of Ceilic dead that were, for one reason or another, not granted entry into the Underworld. These spirits wander the wilderness, searching for mortals. The locals believe that these souls were neither good enough to get into Elysium, nor evil enough to be sent into Tartarus.   Whatever the case, the Sluagh are aggressive to the living, and attempt to snatch the souls of those unfortunate enough to cross their path. This can be especially dangerous due to the fact that they usually travel in groups. To any non-magic users, I would advise using silver weaponry against them. To my fellow mages, steer clear of ice spells, as the Sluagh are resistant to the cold.   Six years ago, I travelled to the Ceilic Region in search of supernatural entities. After interviewing locals of the clan Spartach, it became clear that the biggest concern to them were the Sluagh, as their numbers were many and they wandered close to their main settlement. I was shocked to find that I was not the only researcher within the clan's territory. A former AAC necromancer by the name of Arcendor Gravis was living within the clan, and had been for over ten years.   This was before Arcendor Gravis offered his services to the Venatorian Empire. Gravis had made several observasions about the Sluagh which he shared with me. The Sluagh seemed reluctant to enter civilisation to find victims, instead favouring to hunt and kill those who wandered into the woods. The Sluagh appear to have a strange fear of anyone wearing or wielding anything made of gold, from wearing a gold ring to having a gold tipped dagger. While The Sluagh do not burn in the day, they are significantly faster and more aggressive at night.   Through a mixture of defensive glyphs and disintegration spells, I managed to thin out the herds of Sluagh, making the wilderness slightly safer for the clan of Spartach.   Unfortunately, it didn't matter, because a year later the Venatorians invaded the Ceilic Region, and a year after that, the clan Spartach was utterly destroyed. Only a month after that, Arcendor Gravis went into the employ of the Emperor, and two years later there was a new undead abomination to worry about.
