Dirganun's Eye

This magical ring appears as a double silver band clasping what appears to be a perfectly preserved glassy brown eye sans eyelid.
The eye is physical, and cannot pass through holes smaller than 1 inch in diameter.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

When the ring is employed, the eye detaches and magically flies from the silver band, relaying visual information directly to the wearer of the band as if the wearer were physically (for instance, can be affected by gaze attacks). Even beings who are blind or normally possess no visual organs can receive visual input from the eye. Dirganun’s eye can see into the infrared spectrum. When deployed, the eye can travel in any direction so long as concentration by the ring wearer is maintained. If concentration is lapses, the eye hovers at its most recently directed position and orientation (still relaying visual information) until concentration is once again brought to bear by the wearer.

Manufacturing process

The silver is formed into a band by an expert silversmith. The eye is enchanted and preserved through a magical ritual known only to Dirganun himself.

History

Dirganun created this ring after donning the Cowl of Darkness and becoming permanently blinded.

Significance

The eye really once was one of Dirganun’s eyes, which he lost when experimenting with recently uncovered relics of the previous Age.
