Troll
Trolls are a species of goblinoid known for their powerful builds, brutish attitudes, and low intellects. Trolls generally look like oversized goblins, standing 6-8' tall, with long arms and legs, and a slouching, bent kneed posture.
Trolls are generally considered dimwitted, even by goblinoid standards, and tend to favor brawn over brains. However, many an adventurer has fallen to an effective troll ambush.
Troll mouths tend to be full of jagged, rotten teeth, and have foul breath, like rotten flesh. Trolls having tusks are not unknown.
Trolls are a varied lot and a number of subspecies exist, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Some of these include cave trolls, ice, swamp, forest, and rock trolls.
Skin colors vary greatly among trolls, even within the same subspecies. Sickly yellows, browns, greens, white, black and even purple are not unknown.
Due to their powerful builds, trolls can use weapons that would be too large for smaller races. However, troll-made weapons tend to be crude and primitive, little more than clubs and spears made from natural materials.
Not all trolls are hideous idiots. Some are born fairly attractive, even by non-goblinoid standards, and have higher than average intellects. Many of these trolls become sorcerers of some skill.
Troll heritage includes both goblinoid and giant-kin, as evidenced by effects that have greater affects on these types of creatures affecting them.
Like all goblinoids, trolls are capable of mating with humanoids. Offspring from of these matings are called troll-kin and often known for their strength, magical ability, and somtimes, even great beauty, although most carry some sort of physical reminder of their trollish heritage.
Trolls tend to live in bands of 5-20 adults and males outnumber females two-to-one. An equal number of children will also be present.
Troll society tends to be matriarchal and female trolls tend to be larger and more powerful than males.
