Session 14
General Summary

The group decided to take the girl back to the Coronet and Cabbage Inn. They were able to drop her off, and learned about a half elf who arrived in town recently to study the statue. They met with her in an apartment that is located near the warehouses in the village.
She told them about a statue north of the graveyard on a hill and was able to show them a sketch. She also told them that centuries ago there were neighboring kingdoms of humans and dwarfs in the hills to the north and that they were generally friendly.
The group returned to the tomb and advanced further. After the vault which has been desecrated they found another hallway that had a statue of a woman with head and arms lifted to the sky and flanked by fountains that seem to be flowing with fresh water. Sima tested the water and believes that it is nothing more than fresh water.
There is a locked door opposite the statue and on the door were the names of a husband and wife pair who were wizards that lived in the area approximately a century ago. They were known for their work with automatons. The group decided to bypass this door. There were more vaults on the walls further down the hall and most of them have been looted.
Also further down the hallway is a stairwell that leads downward further north under the graveyard. It was noted that the stonework here was of different color and style than the previous areas the group has visited.
At the bottom of the stairwell is a door that is decorated with a riddle and a picture of a beholder with various symbols at the end of each eye stalk. The door is magical and closed with an arcane lock.
The group returned to town and purchased a scroll of knock. They returned to the site and were able to use the knock spell to unlock the door. Inside the door there was a central room with an eye engraved on the floor and 3 rooms branching from the main room. There were inlays on the floor in the 3 side rooms with tiles set into them. The tiles matched the symbols on the door. The group puzzled about what to do with the tiles and eventually figured out that the tiles needed to be re-arranged to match the door.
When the tiles were rearranged a ray came from the ceiling and "erased" a tile on the floor and gave the group access to a ladder leading down to another landing.
We left off with a few of the party members on the landing below and some still up in the beholder puzzle room.
