The GodsWar
After Eramus the Father Creator had created the different races the lesser gods began fighting amongst themselves in an attempt to gain power by attracting more followers. There was always a sense of conflict between the lesser deities. Alliances were formed and broken, squabbles occured and were quelled but always beneath the surface was a tension, conflict between the lesser deities.
Hannan, Lord of the Sun who was once the god of trickery, fooled Gaen, Goddess of Light to give up her Light domain to him. Once Hannan realized the power this new domain granted him he was loathe to return it. That was the breaking point and led to the GodsWar where several of the deities fought and even slayed each other.
This conflict occured on the plane of existence known as GodsHome so mortals were spared from the violence. When a deity was slain, mortal worshippers lost their powers and Erasmus reclaimed abdicated domains. Eventually Eramus grew tired of the conflict and cast out the remaining gods to be among the mortals, shortly thereafter calling The Nine to replace the others.
