Valdamier
Valdamier, also known as "the Undying" and "the Keeper of Blood," is a vampire and the first of his kind in the world of Erellion. He has gray skin, a bald head, and a face that resembles a bat rather than a human. His red clothes leave his chest bare, and he is often seen wearing a cloak or a cape. He is tall and slender, with sharp features and piercing eyes that glow with an otherworldly light. Valdamier exudes an aura of power and charisma, befitting of a leader and a master of the undead. Despite his undead nature, he retains his intelligence, strategic mind, and deep knowledge of ancient spellcasting secrets, which he uses to expand his power and control over others. He is a feared and respected figure, with a reputation for being both cunning and ruthless in his pursuit of power.

Personal history
Valdamier, the first vampire, was born as a drow in the Age of Darkness and became a prominent soldier and general in the Queen's grand army. He met his end in the final battle, mortally wounded by the great hero Ralathor. In his dying moments, Valdamier called out to Melaskari, the Goddess of the Undead, and begged for his life to continue fighting. Melaskari heard his plea and granted him eternal life as the first vampire in the world of Erellion. From that day on, he was known as The Undying, The Keeper of Blood.
Over the next age, Valdamier's power continued to grow as he learned ancient spellcasting secrets and turned mortals into vampires to serve him. He built a city of blood in the Plane of Shadow called Fogfall, named for the constant fog that guards the city. He enlisted intelligent ghouls as his lords to run and expand his power. Valdamier also created an artifact known as the Blood Orb, the Ruby Orb, or the Jewel of Blood, which he used to increase his power even further. The Blood Orb was a powerful artifact created by Valdamier, the first vampire in the world of Erellion. It was a ruby orb, also known as the Jewel of Blood, and was created to increase his already considerable power. The artifact allowed him to manipulate and control blood, which he used to great effect in his battles and to create more of his kind. The Blood Orb also had the power to siphon life force from those around him and channel it into Valdamier, making him nearly invincible in battle. Its power was said to be so great that it could even rival the power of the gods themselves.
Valdamier created a portal to the material plane of Erellion that was a powerful magical gateway that connected his realm of Fogfall in the plane of shadow to the continent of Enessear. It was a massive, dark archway made of obsidian stone, adorned with skulls and other macabre decorations. The portal was surrounded by an aura of dark energy, and those who approached it could feel its malevolent power.
The portal was created by Valdamier using his extensive knowledge of ancient spellcasting secrets and the power of his blood magic. It allowed his armies of undead and vampires to cross over into the material plane, where they could conquer and enslave the native peoples. The portal was also used to transport valuable resources and artifacts back to Fogfall, such as the ruby orb that Valdamier created to increase his power.
The portal was heavily guarded by Valdamier's minions, and only those who were loyal to him were allowed to pass through it. Anyone who attempted to enter without permission would be met with fierce resistance and likely met a gruesome end.
Valdamier's rule over Enessear was one of darkness and terror. His vampiric armies ruled over the enslaved population, feeding on their blood and turning them into undead creatures to serve in his army. The land became known as the Black Lands, a place of constant night and death. Valdamier's tower of Blackmire loomed over the landscape, a constant reminder of his power and cruelty. The blood orb, now fully charged with the souls and life-force of countless victims, pulsed with dark energy, granting Valdamier immense power and control over death itself. The people of Enessear lived in constant fear of the Undying One and his minions, praying for a savior to deliver them from his grasp.
As the comet of the AGE OF HAVOC streaked through the sky, it grew in size and brightness until it seemed as if the very heavens were falling upon the world. Its tail blazed with fire and its impact was felt across the entire continent of Enessear. The ground shook violently and great cracks opened up in the earth, swallowing up entire cities and villages.
At the site of Valdamier's tower, the comet struck with tremendous force, unleashing a massive explosion that sent shockwaves rippling through the air. The tower was obliterated in an instant, reduced to rubble and ash. The portal that had connected Shadowfell to Enessear was closed off, its magical energies disrupted and scattered by the comet's impact.
In the chaos that followed, the ruby orb was buried deep beneath the earth, its power sealed away. The land was left scarred and changed forever, a reminder of the destructive force of the comet and the fleeting nature of even the most powerful of mortal beings.
Many centuries later the Meravanchi Family, a band of traveling merchants, would stumble on the Ruby Orb and bring it Sasserine. The Meravanchi Family recognized the immense power of the Ruby Orb and feared its potential for destruction. So they gave it to three brother that belonged to the Lorchester family. The brothers, who were Paladins of Castin, recognized the evil nature of Valdamier and sought to rid the world of his presence. They engaged in a fierce battle with him, and with the help of other adventurers, they were able to defeat him and trap him underground. They then buried him beneath the city of Sasserine, hoping to contain his evil for all time.
