The world circles its star at the same rate it turns. This leaves half of it forever in the sun and the other half locked in eternal night. Sprawling sandy deserts turn into mesas, then savannahs, plains, hills, mountains, rivers, lakes, forests, and ever onward toward the icy arctics. Each biome is a host to it's own culture and peoples. A few brave souls travel the earth as wandering merchants, heckled by bandits, wild creatures, and extreme weather. Adventurers are few and far between, with most people choosing to stay in their adapted climates. Each location has a host of it's own problems. Be it genocide, food scarcity, political intrigue, war, a lack of basic necessities, monsters, or murderhobo-ing adventures the world has plenty of issues to go around. The peoples of these locations have mostly adapted to, or accepted, their lifestyle. Small hunting villages, large cities, outskirt farm towns, and all manner of profession cities lay scattered across the realm. If you are wishing to find a specific professional you will need to travel great distances and face a variety of dangers. This world is harsh and unforgiving to all living creatures, not just you. Magic is feared in the world of Erendulla. There used to be magnificent citystates, countries, and kingdoms. However, during the war of the Old Gods mages backed their god/goddess in the hopes of currying more power. As such anyone wielding magical ability essentially became a footsoldier, but with more mass destruction. Many civilians quickly learned to avoid mages or risk their lives by simply being in their presence. The world was torn apart as the Old Gods warred. Now with the gods slumbering to recover the world has stabilized, although the fear of mages still lingers. The hearts of men do not easily forget and while many blame the Old Gods instead of humans more still blame the ones who turned against friends and kin in a bid for more power.
