Suran's Forge
Suran's Forge is found deep in the desert state of Dalsim. It has long been known as a place where the dying can go to rid themselves of what ails them. The forge is known for its scorching hot temperatures - among the hottest on the planet. It is here that many seek their final chance at life.
Appearance
Suran's forge is foremost a temple - carved into desert canyon walls. Its fascade is entirely made up of the carved away walls. Pillars stand on both sides of a massive entryway, which stretches to almost the height of eight men. It's interior consists of a large open greeting hall that stretches on for almost thirty meters. Inside a statue of Suran dominates the back wall. The statue is seated - holding his staff in one hand, and a mortal and pestle in the other. On both the left and right sides of the greeting hall are two hallways, each with a number of steam rooms attached to them. To the left of the seated statue lies the crucible, a room where those seeking their final chance risk death for salvation. To the right of the statue lies another hallway - containing living quarters for those members of the Pyrsic Brotherhood who are responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the forge.History
The site was believed to have been carved out of the rock by the Nerlythians around 2800 years ago. It was built to honor thier patron diety - the God of Healers - Suran. Texts say they followed a glowing light along the Horizon for twelve days and nights before arriving at the canyons upon which they would bestow his name. Over the next fifty years they worked the stone into something closely resembling it's current form. During the excavation they discovered vents of steaming hot water - which appeared to have a curative effect on maladies of the flesh. Word spread about this curative property and soon many would begin pilgrimages to the site - braving the desert for one last chance at life. The location quickly became both a hospital for the terminally ill - as well as many of their final resting place. Almost 1200 years ago - several hundred years after the fall of the Nerlythian Empire - the areas currently off the back wall of the greeting hall were excavated. It was then that a large geothermal vent was discovered when excavating the left hand side. It was initially used as a way to put those beyond help out of their misery. Miraculously though - several patients thought to be on the brink of death returned from the new room a healthy as the day they were born - thus giving rise to it's name - The Crucible. Those who survive the scorching heat of this room find themselves reforged and renewed. With the discovery the visitors became even more plentiful and permanent caretaker quarters were added on the right hand side of the back walls excavation. The caretakership of the site changed hands several times over the next 700 years. Finally almost 563 years ago like many other holy sites - it was placed under the purview of the Pyrsic Brotherhood - a status it maintains to this day.
