Aarakocra

Native to the immense mountain ranges in Southern Ardac, Aarakocra are avian humanoids with raptor like appearances. Male aarakocra tend to have brighter plumage while the females have more bland and unremarkable colours.
They do not have cities like other races and tend to build temporary solitary nests throughout the mountains. However, there is a central 'nest' in the mountains in South Ardac known as the Eyrie, a conglomerate of tall, narrow spires formed by nature. Here aarakocras will come and visit the Great Eagle, known as Avalar. Avalar is considered in most circles to be the wisest of all beings in the entirety of Narr, at least according to the aarakocra.
Being solitary creatures, aarakocra spend much of their life on their own, usually only meeting up with others in order to breed. This solitary life leads to many custom and cultural misunderstandings with other races. For example, aarakocra don't understand 'property' and 'ownership' and so will take something if they like it, regardless of who owns said item. Many an aarakocra has found themselves arrested or worse due to this common mistake.
Due to their love of the sky and open world, aarakocra hate going underground and are discomforted by being under a roof, if they are not under the sun and stars, they feel confined, trapped. It is for this reason they are not overly fond of dwarves. They just cannot trust a creature that happily lives underground, its almost as if they have something to hide.
They are light humanoids, weighing no more than forty to fifty kilos at their largest due to their light weight bones and minimal muscle mass. This makes them quick and agile in the air, and is part of the reason they have survived in a land where they must share with dragon-kind. It is also why aarakocra prefer to avoid melee combat and fighting on the ground, for their strength is in quick hit and run tactics from the air.
Aarakocra have a yearly mating season. They meet up at the Eyrie every spring and the male aarakocra will build a nest of one of the many spires (the higher up, the more impressive), decorating it with all manner of shiny and colourful items that they discover in their travels. When the females arrive, the males will then perform dances, showing off their striking plumage to entice a mate. If successful, the male will procreate and then leave the female to incubate and hatch the eggs. A father will almost never see his children.
Aarakocra are a very short lived species, not getting much older than thirty.
