Jotunn

Frost giants. Extremely large, humanoid shaped creatures that historically inhabited the mountains of Nemel. They are often gifted Gifted with Elemental Magic, especially Air Magic and Water Magic in combination, and sometimes Earth Magic.
Although they reside in the remote north of Nemel, their size make them easy to track. Due to this the Jotunn were heavily targeted by the Life Blood Ministries during their distabilization of the Nemeli - Dragon relations beginning in the 30s HA. Over the next few decades, the Ministry was able to contain nearly the entire population as Simulacrum; the rest were slaughtered.
After the Release (314 CA), the Jotunn began to make their way back north. Many settled along the way in new mountain ranges, but some did make it all the way home. Upon their return, some were enraged to find Nemeli had encroached into their previous territory.
The bloodiest clash took place at Oighearloch in 320 CA. The lakeside had been home to a clan of the giants before they were captured, unbeknownst to the mining community that had grown there in the Jotunn's absense. Many children were orphaned, including Trinny who was adopted into a branch of the royal family following the conflict.
