Throughout all intelligent races, there have always been those who have embraced the most primal of all mortal emotions: Rage. Many have channeled their race through various practices to perform unbelievable acts of strength or other force of will. The primordial nature of a being's Rage has also been known to spark a dormant aspect of the world embedded within their soul. An interesting note is that, Due to their severely muted emotions, Lizardfolk don’t possess the raw anger required for these practices.

Primal Paths of the Barbarian:

  Ancestral Guardian:
  • There are rumors stemming from the Northern Wildlands of warriors whose rage reaches the spirits of their Ancestors who are said to aid them in battle. Stories hold these rare individuals are able to rally the recently deceased to return the battlefield for one last mortal combat before their final passing.
  Battlerager:
  • The honored Dwarven Battleragers are a powerful fighting force called in to deal with the more dire of situations outside the Dwarven tunnels. These warriors wear specialized spiked armor designed to cause chaos on the battlefield and use the mountainous terrain to their advantage. Throwing themselves directly into a fray, they furiously fight through the enemy, then retreat by rolling quickly downhill with the protection of their armor.
  Beast:
  • The curse of lycanthropy leave a very small, but lasting mark on the Soul of the unfortunate souls afflicted by the horrible transformations. When a possessor of one of these so-marked souls reaches a point of purity within their rage, it's powers can manifest without the negative repercussions. These lucky few are able to harness the transformative abilities of the curse at will to gain the various strengths of the patron animals of the afflictions.
  Berserker:
  • For some barbarians, rage is a means to an end—that end being violence. The Path of the Berserker is a path of untrammeled fury, slick with blood. As you enter the berserker’s rage, you thrill in the chaos of battle, heedless of your own health or well-being.
  Storm Herald:
  • The Mighty Storm Giants living in the frozen mountain ranges of the north have mastered the powers of sleet and storm through surviving their punishing environments. However, during the Ice Age, the Balgorzians and Ice Giants worked closely together and the foundations of these teachings were passed on to the grateful humans. While Balgorzia sports many of these warriors, there are stories of Wildlings practicing the Arts, as well at the Ursidians of both Ultari and Seton.
  Totem Warrior:
  • The Path of the Totem Warrior is a spiritual journey, as the barbarian accepts a spirit animal as guide, protector, and inspiration. In battle, your totem spirit fills you with supernatural might, adding magical fuel to your barbarian rage. Most barbarian tribes consider a totem animal to be kin to a particular clan. In such cases, it is unusual for an individual to have more than one totem animal spirit, though exceptions exist.
  Wild Soul:
  • Though a particularly mighty fit of rage, a barbarian may trigger a spark within their soul from a previous life which allows them to channel powerful natural magics. After this event, these Wild Souls are able to channel this innately attuned connection to bolster their strength on the battlefield, sometimes to unknown effect.
  Zealot:
  • During the High-Elven Crusade of the Dark Ages, local Humans, Elves, and Dwarves saved from the Gnolls and other threats were sometimes drafted into the group's ranks. Some of these converts open to the Zenith religious point of view were embraced and their newfound religious foundations are whipped into frenzies to take back their homes.
