Class: Rogue

"Rogue" is a very general term and these individuals are comprised of a wide array of practices and organizations, each able to shine in a different light. From a deadly, self-trained and deadly Assassin, to the free spirited, often selfish thief; these individuals represent a wide array of Eridani's residents and they pursue and even greater number of ambitions.

The Archetypal Paths of the Rogue

  Arcane Trickster:
  • Many a shady individual has sought Arcane abilities to supplement their…particular skill sets, though most abandon the efforts after realizing the lift involved. However, a few dedicated individuals have learned a shortcut in the harmonic nature of the Illusionary and Enchantment Magic Spectras. By focusing their studies in only these areas, and combined with a strong enough willpower; a Rogue can join the independent ranks of the Arcane Tricksters.
  Assassin:
  • The path one takes leading to the lonely and dangerous path of the Assassin can be started by a vast array of circumstances; from a desire for revenge, to simple derangement. However, regardless of what brought them to today, Rogues embracing the arts of the assassin are highly sought after for their skills; though not in polite conversation.
  Inquisitive:
  • As an archetypal Inquisitive, you excel at rooting out secrets and unraveling mysteries. You rely on your sharp eye for detail, but also on your finely honed ability to read the words and deeds of other creatures to determine their true intent. You excel at defeating creatures that hide among and prey upon ordinary folk, and your mastery of lore and your keen deductions make you well equipped to expose and end hidden evils.
  Mastermind:
  • Your focus is on people and on the influence and secrets they have. Many spies, courtiers, and schemers follow this archetype, leading lives of intrigue. Words are your weapons as often as knives or poison, and secrets and favors are some of your favorite treasures.
  Phantom:
  • Particularly receptive Rogues who've claimed more than their fair share of lives develop a special attunement for the spiritual energy present in all living things. These terrifying, yet brilliant individuals cultivate their practices with every slain opponent, leading many to have a tenuous relationship with their empathy.
  Scout:
  • You are skilled in stealth and surviving far from the streets of a city, allowing you to scout ahead of your companions during expeditions. Rogues who embrace this archetype are at home in the wilderness and among barbarians and rangers, and many Scouts serve as the eyes and ears of war bands. Ambusher, spy, bounty hunter — these are just a few of the roles that Scouts assume as they range the world.
  Soul-Knife:
  • Long ago, during the Great Uprising, the legendary Psi-Warriors were trained by the Mysterious Nethlect to master their mental abilities, vital in the final assault on Bhreorvog. After the Dragon's defeat, the Psi-Knight Order dispersed, and while a majority joined the Dragonborn's coalition, a few troubled individuals found their way into more seedy groups. One of these individuals particularly haunted individuals was Dreghual Tassik, a powerful Psi-Knight, who adapted and evolved his Psychic training to be more…suitable to the new world. So began the Silverblade's secretive training of a new generation of Psychic combatants, specializing in incredible Telekinetic and Telepathic feats to accomplish their ends.
  Swashbuckler:
  • Once the Seas were finally safe from the Dragon's tyranny, an enormous migration to the waves began comprised of all the Mortals enticed by the previously inaccessible oceans. While the Human Narazu and the (counterintuitively) Dwarven Hadlew make up a majority of Eridani's seafaring population, individuals of almost all races take to the waters. Some of these savvy sailors have developed particularly useful set of skills, swashbuckling from ship-to-ship and enjoying the endless freedom the seas provide.
  Thief:
  • You hone your skills in the larcenous arts. Burglars, bandits, cutpurses, and other criminals typically follow this archetype, but so do rogues who prefer to think of themselves as professional treasure seekers, explorers, delvers, and investigators. In addition to improving your agility and stealth, you learn skills useful for delving into ancient ruins, reading unfamiliar languages, and using magic items you normally couldn’t employ.
