The Maiden of Pain is a cold hearted and calculatingly cruel individual who loves to undermine the ego and enjoying the sadism and suffering of those who fall prey to her whip and her followers. Those who manage to affect her heart is by far the greatest deed in and of itself. She believes that through pain, you can achieve her greatest gifts and blessings, thus her rituals often deal with self-inflicted pain and agony in order to achieve enlightenment. While she also does engage in inflicting pain, she does enjoy the manipulation and calculating her foes so as to humiliate and defeat her enemies. This is why humiliation and physical pain only give her ecstatic and possibly ecstasy. It is also why her calculating behavior is also her weakness, due to assuming that all mortals are selfish and egotistical, yet despises those who are self-sacrificing and heroic.
Originally she served under Bane, but after his defeat and banishment, she served Bhaal until Bane's return. While under Bhaal's command, she often had an intense rivalry with Talona and hated Eldath because they offered rewards without the pain and suffering.
