Aborisas, the First of Fate's Chosen

Summary

Aborisas is the first individual in Erlysian history to have been empowered by the discovery of a Ley Font. The exact date this occurred isn't truly known, but the location of where he found his source of power, known as the Monument of Inspiration, remains a site of pilgrimage for many across the world. This location is now protected by the nation of Ishtos and their fortification known as the Zaltfeld Overlook, which houses the secondary headquarters of R.I.S.E. on the continent of Ourobos.

Aborisas himself has been given the moniker "Flamewake" postmortem by R.I.S.E. after the guild was formed, thanks to the descriptions of the man's abilities. A majority of all versions of Aborisas' legend claim him to be a human phoenix, able to erupt his own body into pure flame that was hot enough to scorch the land around him or incinerate adversaries, and often molded the flames into the shape of a great predatory bird which allowed him the ability to fly at incredible speeds. Many of these variations of the tale also claim him to be unkillable, as whenever any form of attack was able to strike him down, within the next few moments his own corpse served as some sort of husk a new version of himself would soon erupt from, brighter and hotter than before. From here, his other abilities begin to be disputed, as the legend grew over time and the lack of understanding about the Ley during his era limited people's capacity to think of him only as a man with a select set of powers, thus rumors spread of numerous other abilities he wielded which varied from location to location.
