Healing the Waters

Plot: The party encounters an old orc Druid by the name of Grimfang. As the party approaches, Grimfang tells them that due to the Great Sundering, this pool has been corrupted by the magic that split the earth. Now, local wildlife which Grimfang's tribes depend on for sustainance are being sickened or worse, corrupted into monsters. Grimfang knows of a ritual to heal the pool, but he needs a rare reagent to perform it: a drop of purest water from the Wellspring of Serenity. However, this will not be an easy task, as the Wellspring is hidden by powerful nature magic and guarded by Naiads (water nymphs). They will either have to convince the naiads to part with a drop of the water; or take it by force   Objectives: The party must find the Wellspring of Serenity, which requires them to find the correct location to find the spring. They can find the spring with the following riddle:   "Where the earth meets the sky, And the winds whispers a sigh, Where the water flows pure, And the leaves whisper a cure. Seek ye this place with care, And the secrets it shall share."   Grimfang tells them the riddle and that the Wellspring is located somewhere to the west near the coast and figures the solution to the riddle should be somewhere close to there. He will accompany the party to the spring and help guide them if they get off track.   When the party reaches the peak of the taller mountain in the area, the wind will whisper to them that it knows what they seek and then light shines upon the oasis located at the bottom of the mountain.   Once the party reaches the oasis, the naiads will ask them what they are doing here and why they seek the Wellspring. The party will need to either negotiate with the naiads or fight them to recover a drop of the water.   After they depart the oasis, it will vanish, becoming invisible once more.   Dialogue: "Thank the gods! I am in need of great help here; This pool of water is a vital source of life for the local wildlife on which my tribe depends on. When the dragons attacked, the pool was corrupted by their magic. Now the corruption spreads like sickness across the creatures here. I know how we can fix it, but I am missing a vital reagent to perform a ritual of cleansing. Could I ask for your aid?"   "We will need to find the Wellspring of Serenity. I have prayed to Gozreh day and night and he has given me a riddle to find the oasis. However, I have not been able to find it on my own after weeks of searching. All I know is that it lies near the coast, somewhere to the west"   "Of course, the mountains! Hurry, we must reach the oasis as soon as we can. It will take several days for us to reach it, so we must not delay. Also, we should be wary when we reach the oasis. It will most likely be guarded by spirits of nature, so we must be careful not to anger them, or we will surely be turned away"   "Thank you friends. With your help, these waters can now be restored. Return to my village and I will meet your there after I have completed the ritual"   Timeline: This quest will take 5 days to complete if no delays are taken. The party cannot get lost due to Grimfang knowing the area well.   Encounters: If the party angers the naiads or attacks them out right: Severe encounter against elite Naiads   Consequences: If the party is successful, Grimfang will give them (# of party members x 2) Lesser Healing Potions. If the party is unsuccessful, in 2 weeks time, the orcs will begin attacking the tribal encampment to the north and driving the PCs tribe from the area and killing Daarrin.
