Personal history

Things were looking up in Ferrum's existence, all things considered. William and him had found a group of fellow adventurers and the 6 of them were doing just fine. During one of the group's earliest missions, they made a rather disturbing discovery. As the group was putting down a gibbering mouther, Ferrum's body hit the floor. When the body came back to consciousness, Ferrum was not in control. It appeared that there was another soul within the body all this time. The group dealt with the foul beast and discussed what in the world just happened. The guest's name was M54. It was the soul of an old soldier that fought in the Great War, little over 200 years ago. It appeared that he had tried many times to seize control over the body, but that this was the first successful attempt. The lesser consciousness could hear and see everything, but it was impossible to move a muscle.
