Ersa
Long ago at the dawn of time there were two gods- Burgen and Ay’lahotan. Ay’lahotan was an angelic figure, and he ruled the sky. Burgen was a daemonic figure who ruled under the earth- they were oppositional but formed a duality- until Bergen used his powers to create new gods so he could conquer over A’ylahotans domain. In response A’ylahotan created the Angels who were many in number- but Bergen deceived many o’ angels who went to his side and thus became the Daemons and Monsters of the world. This war would be known as Dunma’il-The battle was fought and Ay’lahotan lost the war, and was sealed within a prison within the heavens.
The angels who remained were ruled over by Burgen for hundreds of years, and became susceptible to his influence. But they kept some of their connection to Ay’lahotan who would come to them in dreams, and then Burgen became distracted from the humans and they began forming tribes. These tribes who were most goodly would receive strength through strange visions, though daemons still did exist they were often lazy drunkards and were no more concerned with ruling the humans than Burgen was, and would rather spend their time harassing the humans than ruling over them. The humans grew too powerful though, and 8 tribes were chosen by Ay’lahotan as the rulers of the brand new world, and overnight all members received a vision.
The kingdom of Ersynnia began as 8 barbaric tribes whom saw the vision from the god Ay’lahotan unified to fight the great holy war against the dread god Burgen who held humanity to his servitude. This war ended when a high priest of Ay’lahotan tricked the god Burgen and used a scroll to cast him to the underworld where he awaits to be summoned to retake his kingdom. Few of his servants remained, but the vile beasts would become populous- evil machinations such as the Chimera and the Basalisk remain in Ersa to terrorize the new and free humans but would never be as powerful as when Burgen ruled the world.
This treaty lasted only a short while until disputes within the kingdom lead to the disillusionment of the Kingdom and they resumed back to the tribal state, each developing their own cities and technologies such as writing- but worship of Ay’lahotan continued to be the standard practice. The kingdom reformed from the 8 tribes to repel the attacks against the invading north, after repelling the northern kingdoms they would spread out and conquer the entirety of the Eastern lands.
