Tholrune

History:
Tholrune, a Dwarven kingdom nestled deep within the heart of Thirlodar mountain, is a realm known for its love of gold, ale, and above all, its unwavering commitment to the art of craftsmanship. Prior to the cataclysmic events of the Sundering, Tholrune thrived as a hub of industry, churning out an array of finely manufactured goods. Weapons, armor, trinkets, tools, and countless other practical items flowed in abundance, filling the kingdom's coffers and ensuring the contentment of its industrious populace.   However, when the armies of Grokku began raiding their precious trade routes, the Dwarves of Tholrune, under the leadership of their sovereign, King Durin Ironhelm, rose to defend the caravans and secure the safety of their roads. This response to external threats inadvertently thrust the kingdom further into the swirling maelstrom of conflict, cementing its status as a pivotal player in the ongoing continental war of Eryndor. King Durin Ironhelm, understanding the serverity of the threat at hand, embraced the alliance with the foreign Queendom of Celestia and their Elven neighbors to the south, personally leading his troops into the frontline battles against the invaders. His tactical brilliance and unwavering courage proved invaluable in the fights that came, but the destiny of the king was ultimately sealed by the brutal axe of Tempus, another victim in the eventual tragedy that unfolded during the events leading to the Sundering.   Brom Sparkbrand, a highly esteemed wizard and most trusted adviser to King Durin Ironhelm, emerged as a pivotal figure following the news of the monarch's demise. With determination, he and his devoted apprentices fervently championed the increased integration of magic within the kingdom. Brom had always recognized the potent arcane potential residing within the mountain and, in the absence of King Ironhelm, was entrusted with the sacred duty of safeguarding the kingdom's future. Over the ensuing century, Brom Sparkbrand oversaw a wondrous magical renaissance, where the influence of magic seeped into every facet of daily life. Inventions and advancements flourished, infusing architecture, tools, and technology with enchantment. However, the pinnacle of Brom's transformative rule came with his unwavering faith in High Artificer Braelin Stoneforge.   Once a diligent apprentice under Sparkbrand's tutelage, Braelin Stoneforge embarked on an ambitious undertaking—a monumental project he aptly named the "Arcanaforge." This awe-inspiring endeavor harnessed the combined strength of every Dwarf within the kingdom, ultimately becoming Tholrune's crowning achievement. The Arcanaforge revolutionized the very essence of contemporary blacksmithing by tapping into the boundless arcane energies contained within the mountain itself. It allowed for the infusion of magic into weapons, armor, and a multitude of other creations, catapulting the Dwarven kingdom to unparalleled heights of mastery.   In the present day, Tholrune has veiled itself in a shroud of isolation. Few are granted entry, and the kingdom no longer welcomes a multitude of visitors. Instead, they dispatch emissaries and trade caravans, fulfilling contracts and maintaining diplomatic relations while preserving their solitude. Journeying to Tholrune has grown perilous, as many adventurers who seek the hallowed Dwarven halls have vanished without the proper guidance required to navigate the intricate path to the mountain's heart. Travelers who fall short of reaching the kingdom and instead return to their homes recount tales of uncanny occurrences within the forest's depths. Their stories are rife with accounts of bizarre and contorted plant life, ominous and treacherous beings, eerie laughter echoing through the woods, blood-curdling screams that pierce the stillness, and the irresistible urges and enigmatic gaps in their memories that linger long after their departure.
