Devron

Childhood

Devron is the only son of two strigoi warriors and grew up in the capital of Iloa. He was inquisitive from an early age and learned faster than other children his age, which is why he was taught martial arts at an early age. Devron loved training and looked forward to it every day.
He only loved his sister more. He almost idolized her and helped his mother take care of her from the very beginning. Even though she was less interested in fighting, they both loved spending time together.
At the age of 60, Devron was already allowed to take on small jobs of his own, which is how he noticed the unrest between people. He observed the events attentively and realized that it was not just a temporary disturbance.
He tried to talk to his parents and the prince about it and convince them to talk to the people in order to find a peaceful solution, but neither of them believed him. Instead, they thought it was an overreaction on his part, due to his inexperience, and they were convinced that they would withstand an attack. Devron still believed in the danger and trained even harder, but the strength of the overthrow came as a surprise.

The overthrow

Devron was only 68 years old when the mages and humans attacked. It was a lightning attack in which the houses of the strigoi were set on fire and every strigoi was killed without mercy. Devron fought together with his parents to protect the weaker ones, but the mages were too strong. After his parents fell, Devron had only one goal. He wanted to get his sister to safety.
When he arrived at his home, high flames were already bursting out, but his sister was able to leave the building in time. Devron tried to get her out of the city through the turmoil of battle, but the mages surrounded him. As he fought for his life, he watched as his sister was taken away.
Devron tried desperately to get to his sister, but his path was cut off. Despite his young age, Devron managed to persevere. He drifted to the outskirts of the city and managed to escape into the neighboring forest, where he collapsed badly injured.

After the overthrow

When Devron regained consciousness, his wounds had been dressed and he was lying in a cave that had been converted into a room. After he was able to get up again, he was taken to a strigoi, whose power he could immediately feel. He introduced himself as Cieron and heir to the royal house. He explained to him that they had formed a small resistance group to recapture the capital one day. Cieron offered him to join the group as they could use good fighters and Devron agreed. He wanted to use the raids to find out something about his sister's where abouts and to take revenge on the humans, because after the attack he was convinced that there could be no peaceful coexistence between strigoi and humans in the long term.
