Nightshade

The Nightshade evolved from a rebel group and are responsible for eliminating corruption and injustice. They monitor the entire country from the shadows and take action against people who sow hatred against other peoples or groups of people and try to push them to the margins of society.
Members include mages, assassins and various vampires. If a person does not respond to an initial warning, the assassins take action and deal with them. The Nightshade also have contacts throughout the underworld and can therefore prevent disasters. Due to their nationwide presence and their actions, they have the trust of the population and the common people in particular turn to them when problems arise. Depending on the problem, they can involve other groups and work together with the Order of Mages in the case of a vampire problem.
The leader of the Nightshades also has the right to criticize the king and point out mistakes and problems. They are also seen as a link between the king and the poor population.

History

The Nightshade emerged from the former rebel group Nightshade. They fought against the former king, who oppressed the strigoi and moroi and tried to drive them out of Iloa. The group fought against the king in secret for a long time and its members were considered criminals. The group consisted of members from all races and some of them also carried out assassinations. They were known for their raids, kidnappings and extortion.After the victory, their leader became the new king of Iloa. He transformed the rebel group into a controlling organization so that never again would a king be able to oppress a people. He has also given them permission to kill people who are too opposed to the vampires.
At first, the population was shocked by the decision, as it meant that the group's crimes would go unpunished, but the Shadows have managed to gain the respect of the population. In the meantime, the population's opinion has changed. They accept the past deeds of the Nightshades as necessary to ensure peaceful coexistence for all peoples and to end the reign of fear of the last king.
