SUMMER CAMP 2024 PREPARATION

Week 1 Get yourself organized

Task 1 Change

There have always been changes in Esarios. These include the change between the rule of the Strigoi and Upire to the rule of the humans and the rule of the Moroi. Each change was accompanied by a great war, which led to many changes. Another major change in the world was the discovery of magic, which gave humans more power and protection. At present, there are again conflicts between the vampires, in which the Strigoi want more power again.

Task 2 Set my goal

My goal is to submit 24 prompts. Since this is my first time participating in the summer camp, that's a lot of prompts, but I also want to make sure that the quality of my articles is right.

Task 3 Organize categories and tags

As I am only at the beginning of my world, I would like to take this opportunity to create a structure for my world. This includes creating the required categories and writing a list of required articles for myself.

Task 4 Updating the meta

As I created the meta for Esarios only a few months ago, there is nothing to update yet. I would like to go through the meta again and check whether I need to revise it.

Week 2 Refuge

Task 1 Refuge

There are several places of refuge in Esarios. The entire underground is considered a place of refuge for all kinds of vampires, while humans have hardly any rights there.
For humans, the mage orders are important places of refuge, which are also the only places that have never been conquered by vampires.
The island of Iloa is another place where the Strigoi find refuge, as the ruler there is a Strigoi and knows what it means to be persecuted.
The Baitail, on the other hand, find refuge in the caves of the mountains, which are inaccessible to all creatures without wings.
Another place of refuge are the Moroi seats of power, where every Moroi finds protection and is listened to.

Task 2 Accountabilityl

At the moment I don't want an accountability buddy as I have enough to do with my studies and only write to relax. I'm also afraid that I wouldn't be a good support. However, I have joined the WA Discord-Server.

Task 3 Styling

With my current knowledge of CSS, I am satisfied with the design of my world. With further knowledge, my world will also change accordingly.
I would like to take some time during the semester break to work on the design of my world.

Task 4 CSS

I don't want to change my world design at the moment, I'll make time for that in the summer.

Week 3 Belief

Task 1 Belief

When I think of belief, the first thing that comes to mind are the different religions. For my world, I thought of several religions that have developed from the same belief system. A family of gods whose members are said to have different characteristics.
There is also the belief in nature itself. Completely independent of any gods and of course there are also various myths and legends. There are myths and legends that have arisen from a true event and have been altered to such an extent that they contain only a spark of truth, and some that have been freely invented.
And as with all beliefs, there are of course also superstitions, some of which can take on extreme proportions.

Task 2 Inspirations

As I am a big vampire fan and they also play an important role in my stories, everything that features vampires is a source of inspiration. I prefer books, musicals and movies. One classic is Dracula, which has inspired me in different ways depending on the version.
Books and films with magic are another source of inspiration. They help me to develop my own magic system and provide further interesting ideas.
I also have a few playlists with different themes.

Task 3 Images Gallery and Maps

I have made a simple map of my continent with the different countries. However, it is still missing places and other important points. These will be added over time and as the various stories develop with descriptions.
I also have several Pinterest boards with inspiration and during the semester break I want to draw my own pictures for my articles. For some articles, however, I will use AI-generated images as placeholders until I feel confident enough in drawing to replace them.

Task 4 Review your Inspirations

Since my world is still new, there are no old sources of inspiration that I need to check.

Week 4 Decay

Task 1 Decay

There is both moral and physical decay in Esarios. This includes the decay of a church that is becoming more and more hateful towards the vampires and is thus splintering into several parties. A kingdom that is falling apart more and more and in which rebels are spreading and in another kingdom the various vampire lords are fighting each other because they have different opinions on how to deal with humans.
There is also the vampiric decay. Vampires fall into a bloodlust from which there is no coming back. The rage causes them to lose control and kill their victims because they just can't get enough.

Task 2 Optimize your Environment

As I mainly work at my desk, I want to make sure that I only have what I need and nothing unnecessary lying around. I also have to make sure that I listen to music via playlists while I'm writing because YouTube distracts me.

Task 3 Review your Homepage

Since I don't have a lot of experience in CSS yet, I'm happy with my homepage at the moment. If I don't have the time during the summer camp to research the CSS tricks I need, I'll just write simple articles that I'll revise afterwards.

Task 4 Update your Intro & Author Page

As I hardly have any articles yet, I don't have an intro page. I'll take care of that after the summer camp.
