The Forgotten Man
This song was written by Cordites Tun, and believed to have been played at the opening of The Half Stop Tavern.
It is believe some of the names refer to the party of Adventurers known as The Seekers.
I know I loved you once
But who the heck are you?
There was someone sitting next to me
I feel only the love now remains
What we said is no longer a memory.
I'm not really sure what to say
But I'm sad and you were sweet and I knew it completely When I wore a younger lass's clothes
Da, Da-Da, fi-fi-ta
Da-Da fi-fi-ta ta-tum
I sing us a song, of the forgotten man
I sing into the night
Well, we're all in the mood for a memory
And I've got the words almost right
Now Bernie at the bar is a friend of mine
She gets me my drinks for free
And she's quick with a joke, or to light up your toke
There's no place that she'd rather be
She says, "I believe you all are saving me"
As a smile slips across her sweet face
"Mmm, I'm sure that I will become a bright star
Once I finally leave my place"
Ooo, Da, Da-Da, fi-fi-ta
Da-Da fi-fi-ta ta-tum
Now Nibbles is the capybara
Who travels with a Halfling Ranger
Danny his name, and he'll be eating seconds again
And is likely too for all his life
And Preet is practicing peopleling
As Zeek wonders what in his past he has done
So, they're travelling together as companionship
As much cause it's better than traveling alone
I sing us a song, of the forgotten man
I sing into the night
Well, we're all in the mood for a memory
And I've got the words almost right
It's a pretty good crowd for a Opening Night
The Halflings dance and cheer
My mind wanders happily
While my heart search for what I cannot know.
Grayson gives me a smile
Knowing in sort he doesn't remember someone too
A memory of the heart
Those I can only call the forgotten ones
And say ain't they really here?
Ooo, Da, Da-Da, fi-fi-ta
Da-Da fi-fi-ta ta-tum
I sing us a song, of the forgotten man
I sing into the night
Well, we're all in the mood for a memory
And I've got the words almost right

Purpose
It was lyrics of a song created to entertain ... however was Cordites Tun's attempt to remember a person, they once felt they had known, yet no true memory remains (just a feeling).
