Dr. Moril, the Disgraced

Doctor Karzer Moril (a.k.a. Dr. Mori)

One of the top alchemical researchers for the Golden Heart, Dr. Moril's job was to find additional methods of healing through alchemy rather than magic. Frustrated with the restrictions and red tape that the Golden Heart imposed on him, Dr. Moril began some of his less ethical experiments on prisoners. Bribing the warden and guard captain of Esharia, Dr. Moril experimented on over fifty prisoners, none of which survived before the Golden Heart caught wind of his activities.
Revoking his doctorate, the Golden Heart forbade Dr. Moril from ever practicing medicine again. Determined to finish his experiments, Dr. Moril concocted an alchemical formula that he consumed for himself. The potion altered Dr. Morils physiology, enhancing his physical capabilities and granting him immunity to poison.
Determined to learn the limits of his newly enhanced body, Dr. Moril joined an adventuring party as a way to "stress test" his capabilities. While simultaneously acquiring gold to fund his experiments further. This resulted in the creation of several Alchemical formulas that would alter his physiology to an even higher degree.
When the 6th Octant in Esharia was quarantined, the Golden Heart sought out Dr. Moril promising to restore his doctorate if he helps end the quarantine. Agreeing, Dr. Moril had committed himself to curing the plague, including entering the quarantined Octant to experiment on the dead and infected.
